Assessment of the attractiveness of rural areas for the resettlement of new residents and the development of tourism | Оценка привлекательности сельской местности для переселения новых жителей и развития туризма

New opportunities for distant work, as well as new challenges associated with the loss of attractiveness of cities as a safe and environmentally friendly place of residence, have created a new image of the countryside as a comfortable place to relax and live. During the pandemic, the interest in rural areas was most noticeable among the urban population. As a result, the Association of the Most Beautiful Villages and Towns in Russia initiated a study of the motives and types of immigrants and it was the first stage of a sociological study. Now, more focus is given during domestic tourism, including in small territories because the closure of many countries for Russian tourists. This facilitated the second stage of the study to test the results of the first stage and reveal new aspects in modern conditions. The study purpose was to assess the attractiveness of rural areas for new residents and tourists, including of settlements that are members of the Association of the Most Beautiful Villages and Towns in Russia, during a period of global challenges and changes. The study results allowed us to draw a number of conclusions. The trend for migration of urban residents to rural areas has become more pronounced, but its full implementation is slowed down by the infrastructural backwardness of rural areas. The moving motives include ecology, space, freedom, silence, lack of information noise, and a calm rhythm of life. The ruralists and tourists interact well with the local population and administration. However, the local population is not always friendly with new residents, but local people are more supportive of tourists, considering them as contributing to the development of the territory.

Новые возможности удаленной работы, а также новые вызовы, связанные с потерей привлекательности городов как безопасного и экологичного места жительства, создали новый образ сельской местности как комфортного места для отдыха и проживания. В период пандемии интерес к сельской местности среди городского населения был наиболее заметен. Ассоциацией самых красивых деревень и городков России было инициировано исследование мотивов и типов переселенцев, что явилось первым этапом социологического исследования. С закрытием многих стран для российских туристов, большое внимание начинает уделяться внутреннему туризму, в том числе на малых территориях. Это способствовало проведению второго этапа исследования с целью тестирования результатов первого этапа и раскрытия новых аспектов в современных условиях. Цель исследования - оценка привлекательности сельских территорий для привлечения новых жителей и туристов в том числе, в населенных пунктах – членах Ассоциации "Самых красивых деревень и городков России", в период глобальных вызовов и перемен. В результате исследования сделан ряд выводов. Тренд на переезд горожан в сельскую местность стал более выраженным, однако его полная реализация замедляется инфраструктурной отсталостью сельских территорий. Среди мотивов отмечается экология, пространство, свобода, тишина, отсутствие информационного шума, спокойный ритм жизни. Руралисты и туристы хорошо взаимодействуют с местным населением и администрацией. Однако представители местного населения не всегда рады новым жителям, но более благосклонны к туристам, так как считают, что туризм содействует развитию территории.
