Show more [+] Less [-]In the present work we describe the feeding habits of three coexisting chondrichthyans (Galeus melastomus, Etmopterus spinax and Chimaera monstrosa)in the Gulf of Lyon (North-Western Mediterranean Sea) during the summer 2011 at mean depths of 489 m. To examine their diet and potential interspecific differences, we combined two methodologies: the analysis of stomach content and isotopic mixing models. Our results showed clearly trophic segregation between C. monstrosa and the other two species, revealing the higher trophic position for this species
