English. The future of livestock farming in rural areas where it is an essential activity must be considered taking into account its contribution to sustainable development of the territory in which it is inserted. It is often difficult to find consensus locally on the conditions and actions favorable to this development, as the diversity of the points of view of the actors and the activities of breeding in a territory can be great. This article describes a participatory research experiment elaborating a framework of exchanges favorable to the construction of this shared vision, articulating points of view of researchers and actors of the territories and facilitating the decompartmentalization of point of view on the breeding and its role in the territory. We present the principles and the implementation of the participatory workshop, carried out in an Auvergne territory, then highlight the lessons of this experience for the actors involved in livestock breeding in the territories.

Les conditions et actions favorables à un développement durable de l'élevage dans les territoires ruraux fait rarement consensus, tant la diversité des points de vue des acteurs locaux et des activités d'élevage peut être grande. Cet article décrit une expérience de recherche participative élaborant un cadre d'échanges favorables à la construction de cette vision partagée, articulant points de vue de chercheurs et d'acteurs des territoires et facilitant le décloisonnement des regards sur l'élevage et son rôle dans le territoire. Nous présentons les principes et la mise en oeuvre de l'atelier participatif, réalisée dans un territoire auvergnat, puis mettons en évidence les enseignements de cette expérience pour les acteurs concernés par l'élevage dans les territoires.
