Adsorption of tricyclazol on 18 different soils from the marshes surrounding the Doñana National Park was studied. Adsorption isotherms were of S-type in all cases. Regression analysis of Freundlich Kf values and several soil properties showed poor correlation when all 18 soils were taken into account. When 13 soils were considered, correlation improved greatly. Clay content, CEC, illite and montmorillonite contents were chosen as significant independent variables. Although organic matter content has been reported to be a major factor in pesticide adsorption, it did not show a good correlation with the different Kf values calculated for tricyclazol.
