Encarsia formosa - Eine Erzwespe für den biologischen Pflanzenschutz unter dem Einfluss von Insektiziden und wechselnden Wirten | Encarsia formosa - a parasitoid for biological control under influence of insecticides and changing hosts

German. Die Bekämpfung von Trialeurodes vaporariorum mit der Erzwespe Encarsiaformosa bei Euphorbia.pulcherrima stellte viele Jahre eines der sichersten Systeme des biologischen Pflanzenschutzes dm. Seit einigen Jahren klagen Praxis und Beratung über einen Wirkungsverlust von E. formosa. Untersucht wurde daher der Einfluss von Pflanzensclrntzrnitteln, insbesondere von Confidor® WG 70 (Wirkstoff: Inridacloprid), auf das Such- und Parasitierungsverhalten von E. formosa. Seit Mitte der 1980er Jahre verbreitet sich zudem die Weiße-Fliegen-Artßemisia tabaci in deutschen Gartenbaubetrieben aus. Sie ist sowohl mit chemischen Pflanzenschutzmitteln als auch nrit Nützlingen nur schwer zu bekämpfen. Eine Ursache für die geringe Wirksmnkeit von Pflanzenschutzmitteln ist die schnelle Ausbildung von Resistenzen bei B. tabaci. Die biologische Bekämpfung mit Nützlingen kann eine Alternative dm-stellen. Ziel dieser Untersuclmngen wm· es, die Parasitierungsleistung des Standm·dnützlings, E. fonnosa, und der im Gemüsebau etablierten Raubwanze Macrolophus pygmaeus zu überprüfen. Verglichen wurde außerdem die Pm·asitierungsleishrng von Erzwespen verschiedener Herkünfte. Die Ergebnisse belegen, dass viele Pflanzenschutzmittel repellent auf E. formosa wirken. Behandelte Pflanzen werden nicht angeflogen. Insbesondere der Wirkstoff Imidacloprid, häufig auch in der Mutterpflanzenkulhir angewendet, verfügt über eine lang anhaltende abschreckende und abtötende Wirkung auf die Erzwespen. Sie erstreckt sich nach Spritzen der Pflanzen über ca. 16 Wochen, nach Angießen hält der Effekt deutlich länger. Gegenüber Bemisia tabaci wies E.formosa eine gute Pmasitierungsleistung auf, insbesondere wenn sie auf B. tabaci gezüchtet wurde. Art und Menge des Einsatzes müssenjedoch an die Ansprüche der von Bemisia tabaci befallenen Poinsettienkultur angepasst werden. Die Raubwanze Macrolophus pygmaeus kann einen wertvollen Beitrag zur Bekämpfung der Weißen Fliege leisten.

Controlling whiteflies (Trialeurodes vapomriorum) with the parasitoid Encarsiaformosa in poinsettia (Euphorbia pulcherrima) has been a successful example for biological control prognunmes for many yem·s. However, since a few years this is questioned by growers and plant protection services because of its reduced efficacy. That is why the influence of insecticides, esp. Confidor® WG 70 (active ingredient: imidacloprid) on sem-dting and pm·asitation behaviour of the pm·asitoid was examined. In addition, since. the middle of the 1980ies the whitefly-species Bemisia tabaci is on the increase in German horticulh1ral companies. Chernical insecticides as weil as beneficial organisms fail to control Bemisia tabaci. One reason for the reduced efficacy of chemical protection is the fast development of resistance in B. tabaci. Biological protection by beneficials could prove to be m1 alternative. The aim of these sh1dies was to examine the pm·asitic capacity of Encarsia formosa as well as the potential of the predatory bug Macrolophus pygmaeus, which is established in vegetable crop production. Additionally, the pm·asitic capacity of pm-asitoids of different origins rem·ed on Trialeurodes vaporariorum was compm- ed with pm·asitoids reared onßemisia tabaci. The results show that many· insecticides have a repellent impact on E.formosa. They do not approach treated plants. Esp. imidacloprid, frequently used in stock plants, has a lang lasting repelling m1d lethal effect. After spraying the plants, it lasts approx. 16 weeks, after pouring the effect lasts even langer. E. fonnosa proved to be a suitable pm·asitoid for Bemisia tabaci, especially when reared on it. However, the mode and quantity of pm-asitoids released have to be adapted to the poinsettia c11lh1res. The predatory bug Macrolophus pygmaeus can be a valuable addition in biological pest control strategies.
