Charakterisierung der Resistenz von Winterweizensorten und -zuchtlinien gegenüber Steinbrand (Tilletia tritici) und Zwergsteinbrand (T. controversa) | Resistance of winter wheat varieties and breeding lines against common bunt (Tilletia tritici) and dwarf bunt (T. controversa)

German. Ziel der hier vorliegenden Untersuchung ist es, einen Beitrag zur Frage der Nutzung von Sortenresistenzen gegen Steinbrand und Zwergsteinbrand im Ökologischen Landbau zu leisten. Dafür wurden in der Vegetationsperiode 2002/03 an fünf Standorten in Deutschland Feldversuche zur Anfälligkeit von 30 Winterweizensorten und -zuchtlinien gegen Steinbrand durchgeführt. Für die Inokulation wurden (mit einer Ausnahme) Sporen vom jeweiligen Standort verwendet. Der an den fünf Standorten beobachtete Höchstbefall variierte zwischen 35 und 87%. Abhängig vom Standort blieben unter diesen Bedingungen ein Drittel bis zwei Drittel der Sorten unter einem Befall von 20%. Zu den Sorten mit geringem Befall zählten Magnifik, Stava, Tambor, Tommi und Tarso sowie der Zuchtstamm SW 51136. Im Folgejahr wurden die Versuche mit den Sorten Altos, Ataro, Korund, Tataros und Tommi wiederholt. Bei einem allgemein sehr hohen Befall hatte nur die Sorte Tommi an allen Standorten einen ähnlich geringen Befall wie im Vorjahr. Gegenüber dem Zwergsteinbrand (geprüft 2002/03 an einem Standort) blieb bei einem Höchstbefall von 16% (anfällige Referenzsorte Jubilar) ca. ein Viertel der 30 Sorten unter einem Befall von 2 %. In der Mehrzahl handelte es sich um die gleichen Sorten, die sich auch schon als widerstandsfähig gegen den Steinbrand erwiesen hatten. Bei der Versuchswiederholung in 2003/04 hatten aber die ausgewählten Sorten (Ataro, Toronto, Tommi, Pegassos und Tarso) einen Befall zwischen 5 und 12% (Jubilar: 30%). Weiterhin wurde das Virulenzspektrum von fünf geographisch unterschiedlichen Sporenherkünften von T. tritici vergleichend an einem Standort mit Hilfe des Differentialsortimentes nach GOATES (1996) analysiert. Alle Sporenherkünfte waren für die Resistenzgene Bt 2 und Bt 7 virulent, aber avirulent gegenüber Bt 4, Bt 5, Bt 6, Bt 8, Bt 10, Bt 11, Bt 12, Bt 14 und PI 173437. Linien mit Bt 1, Bt 3, Bt 9, Bt 13 und Bt 15 waren in der Lage, die untersuchten Sporenherkünfte zu differenzieren.

English. The aim of the present study is to contribute to the topic of the use of varietal resistance against common bunt and dwarf bunt in organic farming. In the growing period 2002/03 field experiments were performed at five locations in Germany to determine the susceptibility against common bunt of 30 winter wheat varieties and breeding lines. In four of the five experiments the spores used for seed inoculation were of local origin, i. e. derived from the respective location. The maximum percentage of infected heads recorded at the five locations varied between 35 and 87 %. Depending on the location, one to two thirds of the varieties had below 20% infection. Among the varieties with low infection were Magnifik, Stava, Tambor, Tommi, Tarso and SW 51136. In the following year the experiments were repeated with the varieties Altos, Ataro, Korund, Tataros and Tommi. Under the generally higher disease pressure of the second year the cultivar Tommi was the only one with a similarly low percent infection as in the first year. In the field experiment for determination of susceptibility of the 30 varieties against dwarf bunt (tested at one location in 2002/03), one fourth of the varieties had below 2% infection, with a maximum infection of 16% in the susceptible reference variety Jubilar. The majority of these varieties were the same as those that had already shown reduced susceptibility towards common bunt. However, when the experiment was repeated in 2003/04, the selected varieties Ataro, Toronto, Tommi, Pegassos and Tarso had between 5 and 12% infection (Jubilar: 30 %). Further, the virulence of five spore samples (isolates) of different geographical origin of T. tritici was analysed at one location using a standard set of differential cultivars (GOATES, 1996). All isolates were virulent for the resistance genes Bt 2 and Bt 7, but avirulent towards Bt 4, Bt 5, Bt 6, Bt 8, Bt 10, Bt 11, Bt 12, Bt 14 and PI 173437. The isolates could be differentiated by the plants carrying Bt 1, Bt 3, Bt 9, Bt 13 and Bt 15.
