There is a number of linguistic terms in the field of environmental protection, such as "environmental favourable" or "environmental compatible" having different interpretations in general and legal usage. In particular, it is not clearly defined which terms are applicable for environmental protection purposes in agriculture. The authors follow the biological term "environment". With regard to the political demand for enviromental protection, different characteristics in the present law are shown. The terms "environmental acceptable", "environmental favourable", and "environmental compatible" are related to certain protection purposes in agriculture in order to reach their precise usage.
