German. The aim of this study was to evaluate the protein ration to decrease the nitrogen excrement of pigs. The genetic parameters for the protein ratio per kilogram meat were estimated and relation between carcass traits were analysed. The data base were 164 individually penned female crossbred in choice feeding. The heritability for the protein ratio per kilogram meat, thus it seems possible by breeding to reduce the nitrogen excrements in pig production. High genetic correlations between protein ratio per kilogram meat and the feed ratio were found. Therefore the improve of feed ration is accompanied by an improve of protein ration per kilogram meat.
