Geostatistical investigations on soil and crop fertility parameters in Northern Germany

German. To apply precision agriculture technologies to fertilizer applications reliable information about the spatial variablity of soil fertility parameters is required. Especially the knowledge on the range of spatial dependency is needed to organise the sampling of soils and crops. With the objective to evaluate the ranges of selected soil and crop features two sites in Northern Germany, Lower Saxony, were sampled in regular grid of 5-40 m. In three years yields were recorded "on the go" by means of an DGPS assisted Flowmeter system at the fluvial site. The semivariogram analysis for lag distances set to each grid distance reveals ranges between 60 and 90 m for crop yield in three years on both sites. Clay content in soil is spatial correlated up to a distance of 80 m on both sites as well. Soil parameters N total, Corg, texture (over 2 um) and available potassium show ranges between 110 and 170 m. In contrast the available phosphate content is spatially correlated up to a distance between 50 and 90 m in the North German coastal heathland. In the fluvial landscape soil ranges for available plant nutrient contents in the grain are smaller or equal with plant available nutrients in soil.
