German. A P supply due to a false calculation of the digestible P (dP) content is only possible up to 5 % below the recommendations in different compound feeds and altogether very rare. This possibility can be excluded if the mixture is supplemented with microbial phytase. Several trials of the P digestibility led to different values for P digestibility in the same feedstuffs. Thus, systematic investigation of the correlations between P digestibility and P content, phytin P content, native phytase activity, feed processing is required.
