Conclusion and additional modules for specific issues The basic model described provides data for a representative exposure estimation for the averageGerman population to pesticide residues in foods. Specific subpopulation, regions or seasonaldifferences are not subject of the basic model, since a higher number of samples and acorresponding design of the sample is needed for such assessments.To answer these more complex problems additional modules are outlined, which shall be conductedproject-based besides the standard monitoring when needed: Acute exposure: Generation of single-unit data for specific food/pesticidecombinations with possible acute risks Multiple residues and aggregate exposure: Generation of specific data forcomparable pesticides covering the relevant exposure pathways. Still dependent on thetoxicological approach for the evaluation of multiple residues. Processed commodities: Generation of data for processed commodities with elevateddietary risks either by accumulation of residues or by formation of toxic metabolites (e.g. ETU). Definition of the residue: Generation of data according to the residue definition for riskassessment, when different to the enforcement definition. Seasonal differences or subpopulations: Generation of additional data within thedesired timeframe/subpopulation according to the sample design described in the basic module. Probabilistic assessment and duplicate portion studies: Complex datarequirements. The module must be designed individually dependent on the problem.
