In Georgia, Cerambyx cerdo acuminatus mechanically damages the wood of the oak tree, which cannot be used as a building material afterwards. The oak tree does not dry out from mechanical damage by larva, so some authors call the Cerambyx cerdo acuminatus a technical pest. The tree dries out from the pathogenic fungi developed in the passages mechanically damaged by lavra, which are spread to other oak trees by the adult beetles. Fig. 4, Ref. 9.
