Effects of Zinc, Manganese, and Molybdenum Fertilizers on Growth and Main Medicinal Metabolites of <i>Stauntonia leucantha</i> Leaves

Zinc, manganese, and molybdenum have a significant impact on plant growth and the accumulation of metabolites. However, the impact of zinc, manganese, and molybdenum on the growth and metabolic substances of <i>Stauntonia leucantha</i> leaves is still unclear. To explore the effects of zinc, manganese, and molybdenum on growth and main medicinal metabolites of <i>Stauntonia leucantha</i> leaves, to provide a reference for the fertilizer application method of <i>Stauntonia leucantha</i>, a three-factor, three-level orthogonal design with five-year-old field <i>Stauntonia leucantha</i> as the test material. The results showed that fertilization with zinc and molybdenum significantly enhanced the medicinal value of <i>Stauntonia leucantha</i> leaves. The leaf growth of <i>Stauntonia leucantha</i> mainly concentrated in 0–120 days after fertilizer application and gradually slowed down in 120–180 days after fertilizer application, significantly affected by zinc and manganese. Zinc significantly increased the content of chlorophyll, oleanolic acid, rutin, and calceolarioside B. Manganese significantly increased the content of chlorophyll and rutin while inhibiting the accumulation of oleanolic acid and calceolarioside B. Molybdenum significantly increased the content of oleanolic acid and rutin but did not affect chlorophyll b content. Based on a comprehensive analysis, the optimum fertilizer combination for leaf quality of <i>Stauntonia leucantha</i> leaves was identified as Zn3Mn1Mo3 (T7), 6 g/plant of zinc sulfate, 3 g/plant of ammonium molybdate, but no manganese sulfate.
