Manejo y almacenamiento de semilla de papa (scdanum tubeitozum l.) y su influencia en la calidad y el rendimiento.

"El presente estudio se llevó a cabo en dos localidades (Emiliano Zapata, Coah. y Navidad, N.L.) con tres diferentes manejos y siete ambientes de almacenamiento, utilizándose un diseño bloques al azar con arreglo factorial 2 x4 +2 tratamientos adicionales con el fin de determinar una metodología adecuada, práctica y económica para recomendar el mejor manejo y almacenamiento de semilla de papa de la variedad comercial Alpha. El análisis de varianza reveló diferencias significativas en el rendimiento y la clasificación por tamaños en los diferentes componentes del factorial, en ambas localidades y en el análisis combinado, se encontró influencia de ¬los ambientes acondicionados con luz en el rendimiento total y en el tamaño primeras, se presentó influencia de los ambientes condicionados para los tamaños segundas y quintas. El número de tallos fue influenciado por los ambientes acondicionados, no existiendo diferencia entre ellos, pero en los no acondicionados se tuvo mayor influencia en los almacenes más pequeños. En el tamaño segundas se presentó influencia, en las dos localidades en los ambientes acondicionados y para el tamaño cuartas se tuvo influencia de los ambientes no acondicionados. El rendimiento se presentó con un 145 por ciento más en la localidad de Emiliano Zapata, Coah., pero con bajo porcentaje de sólidos y mejor calidad de freído que la localidad de Navidad, N.L., teniéndose una posible influencia del manejo y almacenamiento de la semilla. El manejo de cajas es el más recomendado, por ser más práctico y estar al alcance de todos los agricultores de diferentes niveles sociales. Los almacenes acondicionados con luz, son más económicos, por lo tanto, son recomendados en estas regiones ya que se obtienen brotes pequeños, - verdes y vigorosos, además dando riegos en el piso se evita la deshidratación del tubérculo. Almacenar papas en bodegas que se usan para varios objetivos no es recomendable ya sean grandes o chicos, porque se pone en peligro la sanidad del lote de papa."

"The present research was conducted in two 10Cálities (Emiliano Zapata, Coah. and Navidad, N.L.) with three diffe-rent management practices and seven storage environments uti lizing a randomized block design with 2 x4 + 2 factorial and .with two additional treatments with an object of determining an optimum, practical and economic treatment and for reco-mmending the best management and storage of potato commercial variety Alpha. The analvsis of variance revealed significant diffe-rences fgryield and the classification of sizes in the different components of the factorial in both the localities and in the combined analysis the influence of environmental treatment of light was found on the total yield and the first grade quality size. The influence of environmental treat-ments was also observed for second and fifth quality sizes. The number of stems per plant was influenced by en-vircnmental treatment and without existing the differences between them, but in the no environmental treatments produced highest influence on the small size tubercles. On the second size tubercles presented the influence of the two localities and by the environmental treatments, the fourth quality size had influence by non environmental treatments. The locality of Emiliano Zapata, Coah., manifested 145 per cent higher yield, but produced lower per cent of solids and greater quality for preparation of fried chips when compared to the locality of Navidad, N.L., having a possible influence in the management and storage of seeds. The management of potatos in the wooden boxes is recommended because it is economic and within the reach of agriculturists in differents leveis of the society. The storage treatment with light is also very economic and hence is recommended in these regions because it obtains small, green, vigorous sprouts and in addition irrigation to the floor avoids dehydration of tubercles. Storage of potatos in the small or big stores where all the other objectives are stored is not recommended because it is dangerous to the sanitation of potatos."
