Calidad física, fisiológica y bioquímica en genotipos de maíz que combina poliembrionía y alto contenido de aceite

"La mayor utilización del maíz es como alimento ya sea de uso pecuario o humano, en los últimos años se ha incrementado la utilización en procesos industriales, lo que genera la necesidad de contar con maíces especializados de acuerdo al uso que se pretenda. Cuando la semilla de maíz presenta más de un embrión ocurre el fenómeno de poliembrionía que influye en la calidad del grano; por lo dicho anteriormente el presente trabajo de investigación se realizó en el laboratorio de ensayos de semillas de la Universidad Autónoma Agraria Antonio Narro, sede en Saltillo, Coah. Se evaluaron 24 genotipos de maíz con características poliembriónicas y alto contenido de aceite, en su atributo de calidad física (Peso Volumétrico, Contenido de Humedad y Peso de Mil Semillas), fisiológica (germinación y vigor) y bioquímica (tipo y cantidad de proteínas) entablando una relación entre las variables en estudio. Los resultados se analizaron en un diseño completamente al azar con tres repeticiones y con prueba de comparación de medias (DMS, α = 0.05), indicando que en la calidad física mediante PV, los genotipos 15 y 16 fueron los mejores y los más altos en CH, mientras que los genotipos 1, 4 y 23 obtuvieron los valores más bajos; en PMS presentaron mayor peso los genotipos 4, 6, 10 y 14. En la calidad fisiológica los genotipos 6, 9, 10, 15, 23 y 24 presentaron el mayor porcentaje de plántulas normales, sobresaliendo los genotipos 12, 13 y 23 por conservar su porcentaje después de un envejecimiento acelerado. Los genotipos 1, 4, 16 y 17 presentaron el mayor porcentaje de PE antes y después de un envejecimiento, destacando los genotipos 2 y 6 por presentar los mayores porcentajes después de un envejecimiento. En la calidad bioquímica en el CP, los genotipos 14, 15, 16, 17 y 18 presentaron la mayor concentración de albúmina, algunos genotipos con altos porcentaje de poliembrionía no resultaron con altas concentraciones en esta proteína; en el contenido de globulina los mejores fueron el 5, 8, 9, 15 y 18; en el contenido de zeínas se encontraron en los genotipos 4, 8, 9 y 10; y por último los mayores contenidos de glutelina fueron los genotipos 10, 16, 17 y 18, siendo esta proteína la de mayor contenido y presencia en todos los materiales evaluados. La relación en cuanto al tipo y contenido de proteína de los genotipos, destaca que el genotipo 10 presentó las cuatro tipos de proteínas y tuvo mayor calidad fisiológica en germinación; en el caso del genotipo 14 presentó altos contenidos de albumina, globulina y glutelina lo cual se reflejó en la alta calidad fisiológica en germinación aunque disminuye después de un envejecimiento acelerado. Por otra parte, los genotipos 15, 16, 17 y 18 mantuvieron su calidad fisiológica antes y después del envejecimiento ubicados en un primer grupo estadístico en por sus contenidos de albúmina, globulina y glutelina."

"Today are improvement programs about corn crop at some public and privates institutes whose goals are to contribute to full development of country and its regions. This programs are generated by different institutes, as University UAAAN, through of Instituto Mexicano del Maíz “Dr. Mario E. Castro Gil” (IMM), that along several years have generated corn crops with features different of nutritional value, yield and percentage with polyembriony of normal and dwarf size, by this reason is important to determine the seed quality of these populations, the present study it was made with objetive of to evaluate 24 corn genotypes with polyembrionyc features and oil content, in his physical quality Volumetric Weight, Moisture Content and One Thousand Seed Weight (VW, MC and OTSW), physiological (Vigour and Germination) and biochemical (kind and quantity of albumin, globulin, zein y glutelin), making a relation between variables studied.The results obtained were analyzed with a completely ly random design with three replictions and also it was made the LSD mean comparation test, with the SAS program. The results indicated that in physical test of WV the genotypes 15 and 16 were the best, while for MC the higher genotypes the 1, 4 and 23 and genotypes 4,6,10 and 14 presented higher weight about OTSW. Genotypes 6, 9, 10, 15, 23 and 24 presented 100 % normal plants (NP) in germination test, after accelerated ageing test, genotype 23 showed the same percentage and with 100 % of NP were genotypes 12 and 13. Genotypes 1, 4, 16 and 17 presented higher polyembriony in capacity of germination before and after of ageing, with genotypes 2 and 6 with highest percent in accelerated ageing test. In protein content, genotypes 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18 were higher in albumin concentration; while genotypes with polyembriony high did not were high in this protein. About globulin content the best were genotypes 5, 8, 9, 15 and18. For zein, it was less quantity in genotypes and the only with this protein were genotypes 4, 8, 9 and 10; At the end are genotypes with glutelin high, that it was the protein more present in all evaluated materials outstanding genotypes 10, 16, 17 and 18. There is a relation about kind and content of protein in genotype 10, that presented the four protein types with physiological quality in germination test; genotype 14 presented high content of albumin, globulin y glutelin in germination test showing his good quality but it was injured for accelerated ageing, and genotypes 15, 16, 17 and 18 preserved their quality before and after ageing, placing them at first statistical group in albumin, globulin and glutelin."
