Confirmation of the presence of the ochre-faced tody-flycatcher, Poecilotriccus plumbeiceps (Passeriformes Tyrannidae) in the province of Tucumán, Argentina | Confirmación de la presencia de la mosqueta cabeza canela, Poecilotriccus plumbeiceps (Passeriformes, Tyranidae) en la provincia de Tucumán, Argentina

English. Poecilotriccus plumbeiceps is a common species in tropical and subtropical forests of South America. In this study, we add new information on the presence, use of space and vocalizations of the ochre-faced tody-flycatcher in Tucumán province, over a year, contributing to the knowledge of its distribution in the country. Until now there was a single record of its presence in the year 1991 published in a local paper. Twenty years later, our study confirms its presence in the mountainous region of the nor theast of the Tucumán province. Its presence is of great interest due to its small size and limited capacity for movement, and it should be included in the resident species list for the province. Furthermore, the fact that it is found in an AICA site suggests the impor tance of this network for the conservation of biodiversity, especially in areas where knowledge for many taxa is limited.

Spanish; Castilian. Poecilotriccus plumbeiceps es una especie frecuente en selvas subtropicales y tropicales de Sudamérica. En este estudio, se aporta nueva información sobre la presencia, uso del espacio y vocalizaciones de la mosqueta cabeza canela en la provincia de Tucumán a lo largo de un año, contribuyendo al conocimiento de su distribución en el país. Hasta el momento se cuenta con un único registro del año 1991, publicado en una gacetilla informativa local. Veinte años después, el presente informe la confirma en las serranías del noreste de Tucumán. Su presencia resulta de gran interés debido a su pequeño tamaño y poca capacidad de desplazamiento, y debería ser incluida en el elenco de especies residentes de la provincia. Además, el hecho de encontrarse en un sitio AICA (Área Importante para la Conservación de las Aves) sugiere la importancia de esta red para la conservación de la biodiversidad, en especial en áreas donde el conocimiento de muchos taxones es limitado.
