A Seed germination and initial development of rice seedlings inoculated with Azospirillum brasilense

Rice is an annual crop, adapted in highlands and floodplains or flooded, and represents a lot importance for human consumption, in this way, there is a need for research aimed at further initial development of the crop. The objective of this study is to evaluate the germination and vigor of rice seeds, using different doses of bacteria inoculant from Azospirillum brasilense specie. The experimental design was completely randomized (DIC), using six different doses of the inoculant Nitro 1000 based on Azospirillum brasilense, with four replicates of 50 seeds each, using rice cultivar SCS 121CL. The evaluations to germination were realized daily until 14th days, the test of first count at the 5th day and second count at the 14th day after sowing, was also performed the germination speed index (IVG) and the biometric parameters at the end of the 14 days. The dose of 4.0 mL 1000-1 inoculant seeds was the treatment that resulted in a higher percentage of germination in the rice seed. Root length increased with higher doses, but did not give a significant difference in dry root mass. The different doses of the inoculant do not interfered in the development of aerial part of the rice.
