"Características del agua superficial de los aguajes en el cañón de San Lorenzo, Saltillo, Coahuila."

"La ciudad de Saltillo se ha caracterizado por contar con pocas áreas esparcimiento para sus habitantes, siendo Los Aguajes el área más cerca- na y natural preferida por los excursionistas. Por ello, en este estudio se plan- como objetivo determinar algunas características físico-químicas y bio- lógicas del agua superficial del sitio antes mencionado, para lo cual se anali- zaron muestras de agua en 10 sitios durante los meses de marzo y julio de 1986. Los resultados señalan que, física y químicamente, el agua superfi- Cañón de San Lorenzo no presenta ningún problema para cualquier uso de que se le pretenda dar; pero, biológicamente no es recomendable que se consuma por los humanos como se ha estado haciendo en la actualidad; los resultados señalan también que existe una relación positiva entre el conteni- do elementos quimicos y bacterias coliformes, con la afluencia de visitan- tes y la presencia de precipitaciones y escurrimientos superficiales. "The city of Saltillo has been characterized by having few recreational areas for its inhabitants, with Los Aguajes being the nearest natural area preferred by hikers. Therefore, this study aimed to determine some physical-chemical and biological characteristics of the surface water of the aforementioned site, for which water samples were analyzed at 10 sites during the months of March and July of 1986. The results indicate that, physically and chemically, the surface water of Cañón de San Lorenzo poses no problems for any use intended; however, biologically it is not advisable for human consumption as has been done currently; the results also indicate that there is a positive relationship between the content of chemical elements and coliform bacteria, with the influx of visitors and the presence of precipitation and surface runoff."
