Der BITS (Baltic International Survey) liefert die wichtigsten fischereiunabhängigen Daten zum Zustand der Bodenfischarten Dorsch, Flunder, Scholle, Kliesche, Steinbutt und Glattbutt in der Ostsee. Die Reisen werden zweimal jährlich im ersten und vierten Quartal durchgeführt. Deutschland nimmt an diesen Reisen seit 1981 teil, beprobt seit 1991 mit der FFS „Solea“ zweimal jährlich die westliche Ostsee mit insgesamt etwa 120 Stationen (2 mal 20 Tage Reisedauer). Dänemark, Schweden, Estland, Lettland, Litauen, Russland, Polen und Deutschland erheben fast zeitgleich auf ihren Schiffen Daten zur Häufigkeit sowie zu Länge, Gewicht, und ggfs. Geschlecht, Reife und Gesundheitszustand der Nutzfische. Die Reisen werden durch den Internationalen Rat für Meeresforschung (ICES) durch die ICES-Arbeitsgruppe BIFS (Baltic International Survey) koordiniert. Dieser Datensatz enthält die Daten aus den 4. Quartal 2019 und 1. Quartal 2020.

English. The BITS provides the most important fishery-independent information on the status of the demersal fish species Baltic cod, flounder, plaice, dab, turbot and brill in the Baltic Sea. The cruise is conducted twice a year in the first and fourth quarter. Germany has participated in these trips twice a year and 1st and 4th quarter since 1981, since 1991 with the FRV “Solea”, sampling the western Baltic Sea with approximately 120 stations annually (trip duration: 2 x 20 days). On different vessel, Denmark, Sweden, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Poland and Germany simultaneously collect data on abundance and biological data (e.g. length, weight, sex, maturity and health status) of the commercially important demersal fish species. The cruises are coordinated by the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES) via the ICES Working Group on Baltic International Fisheries Survey (WGBIFS). This dataset contains the data for Q4 2019 and Q1 2020.
