"Acolchado y fertilización del manzano en Arteaga, Coahuila."

"Para estudiar el efecto de varias dosis de acolchado orgánico y fertilizan- te nitrogenado, fosfatado y potásico en el cultivo de manzano, cultivar Golden Delicious, se realizó un estudio en la Sierra de Arteaga, Coah. Se estudiaron 17 tratamientos resultantes de la combinación de cuatro dosis de fertilizante nitro- genado (200, 400, 600 y 800 kg de N/árbol), cuatro de fosfatado (80, 160, 240 320 g de P2Os/árbol y dos de potásico (300 y 500 g de K20/árbol), además de cuatro dosis de acolchado (0, 4, 8 y 12 kg de rastrojo de malz/árbol); se in- cluyó un testigo sin fertilización ni acolchado. El crecimiento de brotes fue mayor al aumentar la dosis de fertilizante ni- trogenado, mientras que el crecimiento de tronco no se afectó por los tratamien- tos, esto en el primer año de trabajo. Las concentraciones foliares de Nitrógeno (N), Calcio (Ca) y Magnesio (Mg) fueron mayores que los rangos de suficiencia, pero los de Fésforo (P) y Potasio (K) fueron más bajos que los niveles de suficiencia. La producción de fruta no presentó diferencia estadística significativa en- tre tratamientos en este ciclo, aunque sf la hubo para firmeza y contenido de sólidos solubles en frutos. Los valores más bajos de firmeza del fruto se encon- traron en las dosis más bajas de N, en la alta de K y en las altas de rastrojo de acolchado. Los sólidos solubles de los frutos de categoría extra aumentaron con las dosis altas de acolchado, y en las categorías segunda y tercera, con las dosis altas de P se tuvieron valores mayores en esta variable. La concentración de carbohidratos y N en la corteza de los brotes no se afectó con los tratamientos; sólo el porciento de almidón se incrementó debi- de a la interacción de N, P y rastrojo. El proceso de formación de dardos tam- poco fue afectado. "

"The effect of different rates of organic mulch and nitrogen, phosphate and potassium fertilizers was studied in Golden Delicious apple trees at Sierra de Ar- teaga, Coahuila. There were 17 treatments obtained from the combination of (80, 160, four nitrogen fertilizer rates (200, 400, 600 y 800 kg of N/tree), four of phospha- te 240 y 320 g P20s/tree) and two of potassium (300 y 500 g de K2O/tree) plus four straw mulch rates (0, 4, 8 y 12 kg of maize crop residues/tree); it was included a control without fertilization or mulch. Shoot growth was higher as the rate of nitrogen fertilizer increased, but the trunk growth in diameter was not affected by the treatments, in the first year of study. Nitrogen, Ca and Mg leaf concentrations were higher than the suficiency levels, but those of P and K were lower than the suficiency levels. There were no significant effects in fruit production in this cycle, however there were significative effects in fruit firmness and soluble solids content. The lower firmness values were found at the lower rates of nitrogen fertilizer, and higher rates of potassium and mulching. The soiuble solids of extra class fruits increased with the higher rates of mulching and fruits from second and third class increased with the high rates of phosphorus. Carbohidrates and N in the shoot cork was not affected by the treatments, and only the starch percentage increased by the effect of the interaction of N, P and soil mulch. The spur formation was not affected this year by the treatments. "
