Investigation of wooden mosques in Çoraklı and Atalar Villages in terms of ergonomics and wooden decoration programs | Çoraklı köyü ve Atalar köyü ahşap camilerinin ergonomik ve ahşap süsleme programı açısından incelenmesi

There are important wooden structures separated into various regions of Artvin province where wooden mosques that have survived to the present day are dense. The wooden mosques of Çoraklı and Atalar villages in Şavşat draw attention for their colorful interior decorations and ergonomic design. It is known that wooden mosques are spread throughout the region, extending even to the Autonomous Republic of Adjara in Georgia and the capital city of Tbilisi. This study, which holds importance for the preservation of these wooden mosques that have many similar features, examines the ergonomic and wooden decoration programs of the wooden mosques in Çoraklı and Atalar villages in Şavşat district. Considering that there are examples where the restoration works were not carried out properly and the decoration techniques were destroyed with colored paints on wood, it was suggested that the current conditions of these wooden mosques be preserved and improved. In addition, dimensional measurements of the pulpit, mihrab, and door fittings were taken and compared with today’s ergonomic standards. As a result of the study, it was determined that the door handle heights in the examined wooden mosques of Çoraklı and Atalar villages in Şavşat were consistent with the height measurements reported in the literature. However, the railing heights of the minbar were found to be ergonomically inadequate, and the angular inclination of the mihrab was observed to be steeper compared to those in other mosques in the region.

Günümüze kadar ulaşan ahşap camilerin yoğun olduğu Artvin ilinin çeşitli bölgelerine ayrılmış önemli ahşap yapıları bulunmaktadır. Şavşat’ta bulunan Çoraklı köyü ve Atalar köyü ahşap camileri de renkli iç mekan süslemeleri ve ergonomisiyle dikkat çekmektedir. Tüm bölgeye yayılmış hatta Gürcistan Acara Özerk Bölgesi’ne ve ülkenin başkenti Tiflis’e kadar uzanan coğrafyada ahşap camilerin olduğu bilinmektedir. Benzer birçok özellikleri barındıran bu ahşap camilerin yaşatılması adına önem arz eden bu çalışmada Şavşat ilçesi Çoraklı köyü ve Atalar köyü ahşap camilerinin ergonomik ve ahşap süsleme programları incelenmiştir. Ahşap üzerine renk boyaları ile süsleme tekniklerinin yok edildiği restorasyon çalışmalarının uygun yapılmadığı örneklerin bulunduğu göz önünde bulundurularak bu ahşap camilerin mevcut durumlarının korunması ve iyileştirilmesi önerilmiştir. Bununla birlikte minber, mihrap ve kapı donatılarının boyutsal ölçümleri yapılarak günümüzdeki ergonomik koşullar ile kıyaslamalar yapılmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda, incelenen Şavşat ilçesi Çoraklı köyü ve Atalar köyü ahşap camilerindeki kapı kolu yüksekliklerinin literatürdeki çalışma yüksekliği ölçümlerine uygun olduğu, minber korkuluk yüksekliklerinin ergonomik olarak uygun olmadığı ve mihrap diklik açılarının bölgedeki diğer camilerin mihraplarından daha dik olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır.
