The Interest of buffer zones to limit water transfers of phytosanitary products: what is the possible transposition of knowledge for hedges and hedges on slopes? | Intérêt des zones tampons pour limiter  les transferts hydriques de produits phytosanitaires : quelle transposition possible des connaissances pour les haies et les haies sur talus ?

English. Grassed buffer zones have proven to be effective in limiting water transfers of plant protection products between the plots on which they are applied and the aquatic environment. This article outlines the processes governing this effectiveness, and examines to what extent the knowledge acquired on these devices is transposable to the case of hedges and hedges on slopes. This transposition makes it possible to integrate these landscape objects into a watershed-scale development strategy to preserve water resources, as a complement to good agricultural practices. It emerges from this analysis that the evolution of soil characteristics induced by the presence of the hedge favours a priori the retention and attenuation of these contaminants. However, further research is still necessary to characterize the rapid transfer of contaminants to the groundwater table, which may be favoured by the root system of the trees making up the hedge.

Les zones tampons enherbées ont montré leur efficacité pour limiter les transferts hydriques de produits phytosanitaires entre les parcelles sur lesquels ils sont appliqués et le milieu aquatique. Cet article rappelle les processus gouvernant cette efficacité, et examine dans quelle mesure les connaissances acquises sur ces dispositifs sont transposables au cas des haies et haies sur talus. Cette transposition permet d'intégrer ces objets paysagers dans une stratégie d'aménagement à l'échelle du bassin versant pour préserver la ressource en eau, en complément de bonnes pratiques agricoles. Il ressort de cette analyse que l'évolution des caractéristiques du sol induite par la présence de la haie favorise a priori la rétention et l'atténuation de ces contaminants. Des recherches complémentaires restent toutefois nécessaires pour caractériser les transferts rapides des contaminants vers la nappe, susceptibles d'être favorisés par le réseau racinaire des arbres constituant la haie.
