Composition florística and current state of the combustible material in the orchard clonal nursery de Pinus Caribaea in Malas Waters | Composición florística y estado actual del material combustible en el huerto clonal semillero de Pinus Caribaea en Malas Aguas

The results obtained from the research carried out in a plantation of (Pinus caribaea Morelet var caribaea) established in February 1972, for the purposes of a Clonal Seed Garden in Malas Aguas belonging to the Minas de Matahambre Agroforestry Company, are presented, with the objective of evaluating the floristic composition and the current state of the fuel material. For this, a network of 12 plots of 6 m x 6 m was established with a completely randomized design to determine the floristic composition and to evaluate the fuel material it was carried out using the method of planar intersections. It was determined that green fuel materials were the most representative, presenting a significant difference with the other fuel classes according to the Duncan test p?0.05. From the inventory, 32 species distributed in 19 families were identified, with Fabaceae and Malvaceae being the most represented. Therefore, the load of fuel materials exceeds 15 t/ha and there is a greater abundance of natural regeneration of shrubs and herbaceous species than those of the tree stratum, an indicator that affects the emergence and spread of fire.

Se exponen los resultados obtenidos de la investigación realizada en una plantación de (Pinus caribaea Moreletvar caribaea) establecida en febrero de 1972, con fines de un Huerto Clonal semillero en Malas Aguas perteneciente a la Empresa Agroforestal Minas de Matahambre, con el objetivo de evaluar la composición florística y el estado actual del material combustible. Para ello se estableció una red de 12 parcelas de 6 m x 6 m con un diseño completamente aleatorizado para determinar la composición florística y para la evaluación del material combustible se realizó mediante el método de intersecciones planares. Se determinó que los materiales combustibles verdes fueron los de mayor representatividad presentando diferencia significativa con las demás clases de combustible según la prueba de Duncan p?0,05. A partir del inventario se identificaron 32 especies distribuidas en 19 familias, resultando la Fabaceae y la Malvaceae las más representadas. Por tanto, la carga de los materiales combustibles se excede de las 15 t/ha y se presenta mayor abundancia de la regeneración natural de las especies arbustivas y herbáceas que los del estrato arbóreo, indicador que incide en el surgimiento y propagación del fuego.
