Pemantauan Pemulihan Ekosistem pada Koridor Taman Nasional Gunung Halimun Salak dan Sekitarnya | Monitoring of Ecosystem Recovery in the Corridor of Gunung Halimun Salak National Park and Its Surroundings

Kegiatan pemanfaatan sumber daya yang dilakukan masyarakat di kawasan Taman Nasional Gunung Halimun Salak (TNGHS) berpotensi mengubah tutupan lahan. Hal tersebut mengakibatkan daerah koridor TNGHS rentan mengalami deforestasi dan degradasi hutan. Salah satu strategi untuk mengurangi dampak kegiatan tersebut adalah melakukan upaya pemulihan ekosistem melalui kegiatan restorasi. Akan tetapi, kegiatan tersebut belum dipantau secara berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi dan mengkaji pemulihan ekosistem pada lahan restorasi dan sekitarnya di koridor TNGHS selama periode 2011–2024. Pemulihan ekosistem dinilai berdasarkan tiga fungsi utama ekosistem: ameliorasi iklim mikro, kelestarian biodiversitas, dan produktivitas karbon, menggunakan pendekatan spasial berbasis citra Landsat dan analisis metrik lanskap. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan analisis spasial dengan citra satelit Landsat 5, 7, dan 8 untuk menilai suhu permukaan, kerapatan tajuk, produktivitas primer bersih, dan indeks fragmentasi habitat. Pemantauan melalui analisis spasial dianggap lebih mampu untuk memantau pemulihan ekosistem secara cepat dan dapat dilakukan sepanjang waktu dibandingkan dengan pemantauan lapang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan restorasi belum sepenuhnya berhasil memulihkan fungsi ekosistem hutan, karena nilai indikator di lahan restorasi masih berada di bawah kawasan hutan. Meski demikian, beberapa indikator menunjukkan tren peningkatan dibandingkan kondisi awal restorasi. Selama 14 tahun, Land Surface Temperature (LST) di lahan restorasi meningkat sebesar 1,09?°C menjadi 22,25?°C, namun tetap mendekati suhu di kawasan hutan sebesar 21,17?°C. Hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa restorasi berperan dalam menahan laju peningkatan LST. Forest Canopy Density (FCD) meningkat dari 51,33% menjadi 62,83% dan termasuk dalam kategori sedang, namun belum menyamai FCD hutan sebesar 66,66% Net Productivity Primer (NPP) menurun dari 29,93 tonC/ha/tahun menjadi 25,10 tonC/ha/tahun sama seperti wilayah hutan, namun tetap lebih rendah dibandingkan hutan yang mencapai 27,57 tonC/ha/tahun. Number of Patch (NP) menurun dari 3,16 menjadi 2,8 namun lebih tinggi dibandingkan wilayah hutan yang bernilai 1,62. Edge Density (ED) menurun dari 76,71 m/ha menjadi 73,65 m/ha namun lebih tinggi dibandingkan wilayah hutan yang bernilai 17, 48 m/ha. Mean Shape Index (MSI) yang meningkat dari 1,58 menjadi 1,61 dan lebih tinggi dibandingkan wilayah hutan yang bernilai 1,27 meskipun mengalami peningkatan nilai pula. Interspersion and Juxtaposition Index (IJI) yang meningkat dari 51,66% menjadi 55,81% dibandingkan wilayah hutan yang bernilai 7,4%. Hal ini menunjukkan fragmentasi habitat yang masih terjadi di lahan restorasi. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya penguatan strategi restorasi dan pemantauan spasial jangka panjang untuk meningkatkan efektivitas pemulihan ekosistem.

Community resource utilization activities within the Mount Halimun Salak National Park (TNGHS) area have the potential to alter land cover. This condition makes the TNGHS corridor area vulnerable to deforestation and forest degradation. One strategy to mitigate these impacts is through ecosystem recovery efforts via restoration activities. However, these efforts have not yet been monitored sustainably. This study aims to evaluate and assess ecosystem recovery in restored lands and surrounding areas within the TNGHS corridor over the period of 2011-2024. Ecosystem recovery was assessed based on three key ecosystem functions: microclimate amelioration, biodiversity conservation, and carbon productivity, using a spatial approach based on Landsat imagery and landscape metrics analysis. The research employed spatial analysis using Landsat 5, 7, and 8 satellite imagery to assess land surface temperature, canopy density, net primary productivity, and habitat fragmentation indices. Spatial analysis is considered more effective for ecosystem recovery monitoring as it allows faster and continuous assessment compared to field-based monitoring. The results indicate that restoration activities have not yet fully succeeded in restoring forest ecosystem functions, as indicator values in the restored areas remain below those in forested areas. Nevertheless, some indicators have shown positive trends compared to the initial restoration conditions. Over the past 14 years, the Land Surface Temperature (LST) in restored areas increased by 1.09?°C to 22.25?°C, which remains close to the forest LST of 21.17?°C. This suggests that restoration has helped slow the rate of LST increase. Forest Canopy Density (FCD) increased from 51.33% to 62.83%, categorized as moderate, but still did not reach the forest level of 66.66%. Net Primary Productivity (NPP) decreased from 29.93 tonC/ha/year to 25.10 tonC/ha/year, aligning with trends in forest areas but still lower than the forest average of 27.57 tonC/ha/year.The Number of Patches (NP) decreased from 3.16 to 2.8 but remained higher than that of the forest (1.62). Edge Density (ED) declined from 76.71 m/ha to 73.65 m/ha, also higher than the forest value of 17.48 m/ha. The Mean Shape Index (MSI) increased from 1.58 to 1.61, compared to 1.27 in forest areas. The Interspersion and Juxtaposition Index (IJI) increased from 51.66% to 55.81%, far exceeding the forest value of 7.4%, indicating that habitat fragmentation still persists in the restoring areas. This study highlights the importance of strengthening restoration strategies and implementing long-term spatial monitoring to enhance the effectiveness of ecosystem recovery in supporting landscape sustainability in the TNGHS conservation area.
