Con el objetivo de demostrar la existencia del efecto nodriza como rector de las interacciones positivas entre plantas en el sector de Santa Teresa, perteneciente a la Reserva Florística Manejada San UbaldoSabanalamar, Pinar del Río, Cuba, se realizó una investigación en un pinar abierto con palmas sobre arenas de cuarzo. Se trazaron seis transeptos lineales paralelos de 100 m, en ellos, se efectuó un registro general de la flora, la cobertura se estimó siguiendo el método de la línea transepta; Los valores medios de la riqueza de especies para los taxones bajo nodrizas se compararon con los que se encuentran en espacios abiertos. Se determinó qué plantas reclutan mejor a otras especies. Se compararon algunos parámetros en plántulas de pino bajo el dosel de Lyonia myrtilloides Griseb. y en espacios abiertos. Como resultado, se ofreció un árbol filogenético de la comunidad de plantas, mostrando una alta filodiversidad, quedando comprobado que los valores medios de riqueza y abundancia de especies bajo las nodrizas, son más altos que los que ocurren en espacios abiertos, y también que las plántulas de pino que crecen bajo el dosel de Lyonia myrtilloides Griseb., alcanzaron un mejor desarrollo que en espacios abiertos, comportamiento típico para el proceso de facilitación en ambientes extremos.

With the aim of demonstrating the existence of the nurse effect as the guiding force of positive interactions between plants in the Santa Teresa sector, belonging to the San Ubaldo-Sabanalamar Managed Floristic Reserve, Pinar del Río, Cuba, an investigation was carried out in an open pine forest with palms on quartz sands. Six parallel linear transects of 100 m were drawn, in them, a general registry of the flora was made, the coverage was estimated following the method of the transept line; The mean values of species richness for the low nurse taxa were compared with those found in open spaces. It was determined which plants better recruit other species. Some parameters were compared in pine seedlings under the Lyonia myrtilloides Griseb canopy. and in open spaces. As a result, a phylogenetic tree of the plant community was offered, showing a high phylodiversity, being verified that the mean values of richness and abundance of species under the nurses are higher than those that occur in open spaces, and also that the Pine seedlings growing under the Lyonia myrtilloides Griseb. canopy, reached a better development than in open spaces, typical behavior for the facilitation process in extreme environments.
