Contribución de empresas camagüeyanas a la biodiversidad urbana | Contribution of Camagüey companies to urban biodiversity

La biodiversidad es un componente importante de cualquier sistema ecológico que promueve la diversidad funcional y mejora la estabilidad ecológica por lo tanto es crucial para la calidad de vida en general. La lista de especies que habitan en las ciudades no es muy amplia, pero aun así, la biodiversidad urbana existe y es necesaria. En la provincia de Camagüey muchas industrias están asociadas a la población o en áreas circundantes a la misma. Con el objetivo de evaluar los componentes de la biodiversidad vegetal, se realizó un estudio en diez empresas en el municipio Camagüey, de la provincia de mismo nombre. Dicho trabajo se efectuó a través de servicios científicos técnicos del Centro de Ingeniería Ambiental de Camagüey. A partir de un diagnóstico, se inventariaron las especies vegetales, se promedió el nmero de individuos autóctonos e introducidos, las que se caracterizaron de acuerdo a: familia botánica, tipo biológico y uso dado dentro del sistema. La información se capturó a través de colectas, entrevistas y observación participante. Se inventariaron más de 373 especies vegetales distribuidas en los diferentes estratos De ellas 24 con propiedades medicinales, 14 comestibles, 19 melíferas y 43 con fines ornamentales, todas ubicadas dentro de 212 familias botánicas El 62 % de autóctonas obtenido demuestra la representativa de la flora cubana presente en estas empresas. La caracterización y el inventario de la biodiversidad en las 10 UEB camagüeyanas demostraron la funcionalidad y el buen estado de conservación de las especies vegetales, sobretodo de ornamentales y árboles.

Biodiversity is an important component of any ecological system that promotes the functional diversity and it improves the ecological stability therefore it is crucial for the quality of life in general. The list of species that inhabit the cities is not very wide, but even so, the urban biodiversity exists and it is necessary. In the county of Camagüey many industries are associated to the population or in surrounding areas to the same one. With the objective of evaluating the components of the vegetable biodiversity, was carried out a study in ten companies in the municipality Camagüey, of the county of same name. This work was made through technical scientific services of the Center of Environmental Engineering of Camagüey (CIAC). Through a diagnosis, the vegetable species were inventoried, the number of autochthonous and introduced individuals was averaged, those that were characterized according to: botanical family, biological type and use given inside the system. The information was captured through collections, interviews and participant observation. They were inventoried more than 373 vegetable species distributed in the different strata, of them 24 with medicinal properties, 14 groceries, 19 melliferous and 43 with ornamental ends, all located inside 212 botanical families 62% of autochthonous obtained it demonstrates the representative of the Cuban flora it presents in these companies. The characterization and the inventory of the biodiversity in the 10 UEB of Camagüey demonstrated the functionality and the good state of conservation of the vegetable species, overalls of ornamental and trees.
