VAZ JUNIOR, S. | SILVIO VAZ JUNIOR, CNPAE.
Sustainability was established considering environmental, societal, and economic impacts, whose need metrics to measure and to determine their influences. Sustainable chemistry was constructed according to these impacts applied to Chemical Sciences, especially for processes and products, and can be extended to analytical chemistry. The contribution of analytical chemistry to generate reliable and updated experimental data for sustainability determination is paramount. Thus, this Chapter deals with the concept of sustainability applied to analytical chemistry and the relevance of analytical chemistry to measure the sustainability for carbon, capture, use and storage processes (CCUS), allied to greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions management.
