Response of Helianthus annuus to Wood Vinegar Application | Odun Sirkesi Uygulamasına Helianthus annuus’un Tepkisi

English. Wood vinegar (WV) is a biostimulant and a biopesticide that contains pyroligneous acid and is used as a crop growth enhancer and biocontrol agent, but insufficient information exists on WV’s effects on sunflower production in Türkiye. This study was conducted to determine the effect of different rates of WV on the grain yield and some yield parameters of sunflower (Helianthus annuus). The field experiment was carried out in Edirne/Türkiye, during the summer growth seasons of 2023. In the experiment, four different rates of WV (WV0: 0% [control], WV1: 2%, WV2: 6% and WV3: 10%) were tested on the crops. Applications of WV were made on the leaves of the crops twice. Some characteristics were measured such as plant height, grain yield, crude sunflower oil content and yield. Results indicated that applications of WV had significant and positive effect on plant height, grain and crude sunflower oil yields, but decreased oil content compared to the control. The highest grain yield and crude oil yield were obtained from the application of WV2.

Turkish. Odun sirkesi (OS), pirolignöz asit içeren bir biyostimülan ve biyopestisit olup, bitki büyümesini arttırıcı ve biyokontrol ajanı olarak kullanılmasına rağmen OS’nin Türkiye'de ayçiçeği üretimindeki etkileri hakkında yeterli bilgi bulunmamaktadır. Bu araştırma, farklı odun sirkesi dozlarının ayçiçeği (Helianthus annuus) bitkisinde tane verimi ve bazı verim özellikleri üzerine etkisini saptamak amacıyla yürütülmüştür. Tarla denemesi 2023 yılında Edirne ekolojik koşullarında yürütülmüştür. Denemede 4 farklı OS dozu (OS0: %0 [kontrol], OS1:%2, OS2:%6 ve OS3:%10) bitkiler üzerinde test edilmiştir. OS yapraklara iki kez uygulanmıştır. Çalışmada, bitki boyu, tane verimi, ham yağ oranı ve verimi gibi özellikler ölçülmüştür. Sonuçlar, kontrole kıyasla OS uygulamalarının bitki boyu, tane ve ham yağ verimleri üzerinde önemli ve olumlu etkiye sahip olduğunu, ancak ham yağ oranını düşürdüğünü göstermiştir. En yüksek tane ve ham yağ verimi OS2 uygulamasından elde edilmiştir.
