EVALUATION OF THE PORE INDEX OF A GROUND UNSATURATED FROM CONSOLIDATION TESTS | EVALUACIÓN DEL ÍNDICE DE POROS DE UN SUELO NO SATURADO A PARTIR DE ENSAYOS DE CONSOLIDACIÓN

English. The mechanical behavior of agricultural grounds is in favor conditional of different variables like: the apparent density, humidity content, pore porosity, index, and others. The objective of this work was to determine the effect of the increase of the pressure on the ground caused by the traffic of the agricultural machines in the mechanical properties of the ground, showed through the pore index (relation of emptinesses), for three humidities and two values of apparent density, from the simulation of the process of compaction in laboratory. Tests of uniaxial compression (oedometer) to remolded samples were made, put under a sequence of load of: 25, 50, 100, 200 and 400 kPa, during 0,5 h, and tests of physical properties. The results showed that the accomplishment of works mechanized in humidities near the critical humidity of compaction favors the increase of the compaction of the ground, because diminishes the relation of emptinesses and therefore the porosity is smaller. The increase of the content of organic matter favors the maintenance of greater relations of emptiness, opposite case of the clay content. The increase of the apparent density goes prepared with the diminution of the relation of emptinesses.

El comportamiento mecánico de los suelos agrícolas está condicionado por diferentes variables como: la densidad aparente, contenido de humedad, porosidad, índice de poros, y otras. El objetivo de este trabajo fue determinar el efecto del incremento de la presión sobre el suelo provocado por el tráfico de las máquinas agrícolas en las propiedades mecánicas del suelo, manifestado a través del índice de poros (relación de vacíos), para tres humedades y dos valores de densidad aparente, a partir de la simulación del proceso de compactación en laboratorio. Se realizaron ensayos de compresión uniaxial (oedometer) a muestras remoldeadas, sometidas a una secuencia de carga de: 25, 50, 100, 200 y 400 kPa, durante 0.5 h, y ensayos de propiedades físicas. Los resultados mostraron que la realización de trabajos mecanizados en humedades cercanas a la humedad crítica de compactación favorece el incremento de la compactación del suelo, debido a que disminuye la relación de vacíos y por lo tanto la porosidad es menor. El aumento del contenido de materia orgánica favorece el mantenimiento de mayores relaciones de vacío, caso contrario del contenido de arcilla. El incremento de la densidad aparente va aparejado con la disminución de la relación de vacíos.
