Bulgarian. A relative evaluation of Sandy soils from the Northern and Southern Black sea coast for cultivation of major crops, taking into account the climatic conditions is presented in the paper. The “Methodology for relative evaluation of agricultural lands in Bulgaria” is used. Evaluated soils fall in the “average good land”, “bad lands” and “unsuitable lands” for no irrigation conditions. Some of them pass into the group of “medium good” and “good land”. under irrigated conditions The main disadvantages of sandy soils are very light mechanical structure, low humus content, presence of erosion and stony, which largely affect the evaluation and reduce its value. Few numbers of crops are preferable for agriculture in these soils but after a number of ameliorative, land improving and agricultural activities. For cultivation without irrigation these crops are: vineyards, cereals – corn, wheat, technical – oriental tobacco, vegetables – tomatoes, fruit – pears, cherries, peaches. Crops grown under irrigation are as follows: corn, alfalfa, oriental and large foliar tobacco and fruit – apples, pears, plums, peaches, and cherries, but only on small areas.
