In �??Los Palacios�?� Rice Research Station, between2001 and 2002, an investigation was carried out to determinethe influence of certain climatic variables (temperatures andrelative humidity) on rice barren seed. Therefore, bedexperiments were mounted with monthly sowings and usingthe climatic data of this town, the barren seed percentage ofthe varieties was determined by the specific density method.Results showed the existence of a strong correlation betweenthe barren seed and the climatic variables studied, as well asallowed to determine the behavior of four varieties facing barrenseed in different seasons.

En la Estación Experimental del Arroz �??Los Palacios�?�,durante los años 2001 y 2002, se llevó a cabo una investigación,para determinar la influencia que determinadas variablesclimáticas (temperaturas y humedad relativa) ejercen sobreel vaneo del grano en el cultivo del arroz. Para ello semontaron experimentos en canteros, con siembras mensualesy utilizando los datos del clima de este período en la localidad;el porcentaje de vaneo de las variedades utilizadas se determinópor el método de la densidad específica. Los resultadosmostraron la existencia de una fuerte correlación entre el vaneoy las variables climáticas estudiadas, así como permitió determinarel comportamiento de cuatro variedades ante el vaneoen diferentes épocas.
