The present study is focused on the assessment of “accidental water pollution” using the database generated through Romanian Waters National Administration and National Environmental Protection Agency. The result will emphasize the spatial distribution on setlements, counties and regional level. The most affected area are along the middle sector of Mureș River, Târnava Mare, around some great cities like: Oradea, Iași, Constanța, Ploiești. The most common pollutants are wastewaters, hydrocarbons and chemical substances.
