English. Mathematical modelling constitutes a very useful tool for the planning and administration of the forest ecosystems. With the objective of predict the behavior of volume by hectare of Pinus maestresis Bisse at the Granma Silvicultural Unit, Granma, seven non- lineal regression models were evaluated. The best goodness of fit model was the volume per hectare was the one designed by Hossfeld I, with a determination coefficient of 72, 2 % with a high significance parameter (P <0.001). The description curves for the annual mean increment with the time (IMA) and the annual periodical increment (ICA) of this variable were provided.

Con el objetivo de predecir el comportamiento del volumen por hectárea en plantaciones de Pinus maestrensis Bisse de la Unidad Silvícola Guisa, Granma, se evaluaron siete modelos de regresión no lineal. El modelo que mejor bondad de ajuste presentó para el volumen por hectárea fue el Terazaki, con un coeficiente de determinación del 72,2 %, y dos parámetros de alta significación (P < 0,001). Se presentan las curvas que describen la evolución en el tiempo del incremento medio anual (IMA) y el incremento corriente anual (ICA) de dicha variable.
