The nitrogen influence over the amount of the carbon retain by 13 woody species in the Ciénaga of Zapata’s forest ecosystem, Cuba | Influencia del nitrógeno en la cantidad de carbono retenido por 13 especies forestales en el humedal Ciénaga de Zapata, Cuba

English. Not exist doubt that the tree, although it´s small the carbon capture, they can be reduce the effects of climate change. Nadelhoffer et al referes to Jandl (2003) express that the nitrogen woody can be contribute more tan on carbon storage if Wood it´s use for products of the larger longevity. Attend to is carry out one study in 13 forestry species of the forest ecosystem in the Península of Zapata, Matanzas province. In the investigation was determinated the nitrogen porcent in wood and bark in the laboratory of Alicante University for a fact which take of sample in 3 tree for specie, after it was dry up in environment conditions and divide the bark and Wood and pound through the use of elemental analyst LECO, model TruSpecCN making use the EDTA standard. The investigation showed that Eugenia buxifolia (Sw.) Willd, Lysiloma latisiliquum (l.) Benth. ssp latisiliquum and Talipariti elatum (Sw.) Fryxell are the woody tree with bigger efficiency in the nitrogen use (NUE) and present more capacity for kidnap carbon for each unite of nitrogen employed.

Spanish; Castilian. No existen dudas de que los árboles, aunque la captura de carbono sea pequeña, su aporte para reducir los efectos del cambio climático es significativo. Nadelhoffer et al. [citados por Jandl, 2003] plantean que el nitrógeno leñoso puede contribuir mucho más al almacenamiento de carbono, especialmente si la madera es utilizada para productos de mayor longevidad. Atendiendo a ello se realiza un estudio en 13 especies arbóreas del ecosistema de la Península de Zapata, provincia de Matanzas. Para esto se determinó el porciento de nitrógeno en madera y corteza a nivel de laboratorio (Universidad de Alicante) mediante la toma de muestra de tres árboles por especie, siendo estas desecadas en condiciones ambientales, separadas la corteza de la madera y molidas mediante el empleo del analizador elemental LECO, modelo TruSpecCN, utilizando el patrón EDTA. Se demostró que Eugenia buxifolia (Sw.) Willd, Lysiloma latisiliquum (l.) Benth. ssp. latisiliquum y Talipariti elatum (Sw.) Fryxell constituyen las especies con una mayor eficiencia en el uso del nitrógeno (NUE) y que presentan mayor capacidad de secuestrar carbono por cada unidad de nitrógeno empleado.
