ANTHECOLOGY OF SOME SPECIES OF THE GENUS ALLIUM L. UNDER MOSCOW PROVINCE CONDITIONS

Different perennial species of Allium L. have been studied under Moscow Province conditions as new vegetables and melliferous plants. The results of long-term studies of anthecology of seven species of Allium L.: A. nutans L., A. flavescens Bess., A. odorum L., A. montanum F.W. Schmidt, A. fistulosum L., A. angulosum L., A. schoenoprasum L. are presented in the paper. It is shown that the objects of study differ in terms of the beginning of flowering and length of the growing season. The early-flowering (A. fistulosum, A. montanum, A. schoenoprasum), and late-flowering species (A. angulosum, A. nutans, A. odorum, A. flavescens) were identified. The species features in the daily dynamics of flowering, the timing of development of pistils and the duration of susceptibility of their stigmas are revealed. The significant influence of weather conditions on these processes is established. By nature of blooming flowers within a single inflorescence type are revealed apical (A. schoenoprasum, A. fistulosum) and basal (A. odorum, A. nutans, A. montanum, A. flavescens) types of inflorescence. Besides, groups of species differing with the dynamics of disclosure of flowers in inflorescences are noted. It was found that the daily course of opening flowers within the species, as a whole, is constant, but depends on weather conditions. It is shown that the maximum number of flowers opening per day in all species falls on the middle of the flowering period. The species composition of pollinators and entomophages for the studied species of Allium L. was determined. The taxonomic diversity of the composition of insects visiting the inflorescences of onions is shown. The role of separate insects in the pollination process is established. The main pollinators of early-flowering and late-flowering species of onions are determined. It is stated that the most important as pollinators are species related to the orders of Hymenoptera (bumblebees, bees) and Diptera (flower flies, tachina flies), the activity of which largely depends on weather conditions and time of day.

The technology that is elaborated is to grow purple cone-flower (Echinacea Purpurea L.) producing appropriate roots and rhizomes that can be used to obtain at the same time the additional output in the substance of juice from both the foliage and dry plants. Optimal results on yield and quality of additional output were achieved when the plants were rejuvenated at the stage of budding.

The most important task for the sustainable development of modern agriculture is to increase the biological diversity of cultivated crops. In recent years, due to global climate change, the possibilities of using more thermophilic crops in new agro-ecological zones have expanded. The problem of increasing the biological diversity of vegetable products largely depends on the introduction of non-traditional plant species, with a simultaneous assessment of the initial material for its use in economically useful purposes and the creation of varieties and hybrids adapted to local conditions. In this regard, Nigella L. is of great interest among rare plant species. It is one of the most famous spicy-aromatic crops in the Mediterranean and Central Asia, possessing a wide range of biologically active compounds and unique medicinal properties. The review article provides information on the origin, biological characteristics and breeding of the culture. A brief review of food, medicinal and other economically useful properties is given, as well as the main elements of the technology for growing nigella are considered. It is shown that the cultivation of this culture will provide an opportunity to expand the range of non-traditional plants and be a promising renewable source of valuable plant raw materials, which will find application in various fields: in agriculture, in the food, pharmaceutical, perfumery and cosmetic industries, as well as in ornamental gardening.

To improve the quality of vegetable growing products, it is important to develop breeding and seed production of vegetable crops, as the variety and high-quality seeds are the main elements of modern crop cultivation zonal technologies. At the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution "Federal Scientific Vegetable Center" (FSBSI FSVC), vegetable crop breeding has been put on the innovative path of development, where modern methods are used along with classical ones: molecular markers on the main of economical important plant determinants, accelerated creation of homogeneous lines using the methods of doubled haploids and biotechnology of functional products for healthy nutrition. As a result of purposeful selection work, domestic varieties and hybrids of vegetable crops with fundamentally new qualities were created. The geographical location of the branches of the Center allows you to create breeding achievements for all potential regions of vegetable growing. In 2019, 36 varieties and hybrids of vegetables and melon crops were created, including cabbage, carrot, tomato, onion, onion Shallot, perennial onion, garlic, peas, bean, cowpea, pumpkin, cucumber, sugar corn, green vegetables culture, spicy-flavouring plant and floral crops. In order to provide the industry with pure-grade quality seed material and increase the productivity of crops due to the full use of the potential of the variety in the FSBSI FSVC, constant work is carried out in primary seed production. Zonal cultivation technologies have been developed that will allow growing domestic products in different soil and climatic conditions of the country. Wide introduction of achievements of the Russian vegetable growing science in agricultural production is capable to provide the population of the Russian Federation with high-quality, domestic products. | Для повышения качества продукции овощеводства важно развивать селекцию и семеноводство овощных культур, т. к. сорт и высококачественные семена – главные элементы современных зональных технологий возделывания с.-х. культур. В ФГБНУ "Федеральный научный центр овощеводства" селекция овощных культур поставлена на инновационный путь развития, где наряду с классическими используются современные методы: молекулярное маркирование по основным хозяйственным признакам, ускоренное создание однородных линий с применением методов удвоенных гаплоидов и биотехнологии продуктов функционального назначения для здорового питания. В результате целенаправленной селекционной работы созданы отечественные сорта и гибриды овощных культур с принципиально новыми качествами. Географическое положение филиалов Центра позволяет создавать селекционные достижения для всех потенциальных зон овощеводства. За 2019 г. создано 36 сортов и гибридов овощебахчевых культур, в числе которых капуста белокочанная, морковь столовая, томат, лук репчатый, шалот, многолетние луки, чеснок, горох, фасоль, вигна, тыква, огурец, кукуруза сахарная, зеленные, пряно-вкусовые и цветочные культуры. Для обеспечения отрасли чистосортным качественным посевным материалом и повышения продуктивности посевов за счет полного использования потенциальных возможностей сорта в ФГБНУ ФНЦО ведется постоянная работа в первичном семеноводстве. Разработанные зональные технологии возделывания позволят выращивать отечественную продукцию в различных почвенно-климатических условиях страны. Широкое внедрение достижений российской овощеводческой науки в с.-х. производство способно обеспечить население РФ качественной отечественной продукцией.
