Fecal material from cattle, which was confirmed to be infected with Johne's disease by clinical and pathological symptoms, was decontaminated with 4% NaOH and inoculated into the Lowenstein-Jensen media supplemented with 1% of heat-killed Mycobacterium bovis. After 2-4 week-incubation at 37 deg C, typical acid-fast mycobacteria was isolated. The requirements of mycobactin for growth and the other biochemical properties, isolated mycobacteria was identified as Mycobacterium paratuberculosis

A total of 18 photographs was selected from the numerous SEM photographs of the female and male specimens of H. longicornis for the observations of the fine surface structure and the comparison between the female and male structures

Authors observed an outbreak of porcine pleuropneumonia at a piggery in Kyongbuk, Korea R. which were diagnosed on the ground of clinical and pathological findings. This paper deals with the histopathological observations of the perirenal edema in pigs and rabbits administered with Amaranthus retroflexus, based on the clinical and pathological observations of the porcine perirenal edema naturally occurring in Korea R. In the natural case, clinical signs are trembling, weakness and incoordination of the hindquarters, followed by sternal recumbency, coma and death. Death usually occurs within 24 hrs after the appearance of illness signs

The specimens were examined at the Institute of Veterinary Research in Anyang, Korea R. and were identified as Rhipicephilus sanguineus (Latreille 1806). The morphological characteristics observed by means of the scanning electron microscope were presented with some SEM microphotographs. The protective effects of high levels of dietary iron, copper, zinc or protein on lead toxicity were studied in chicks. Growth retardation, reduction of feed intake, anemia and accumulation of lead in the bone and kidney were observed in chicks fed a diet containing 500mg lead as chloride/kg of feed for 42 days. Early changes due to ingested lead were inhibition of red blood cell 8-aminolevulinic acid dehydrase at all doses and no effect of iron, copper, zinc or protein addition were observed

An ultrastructural study was to investigate on 2 cases of canine leiomyosarcoma. The nuclei of most tumor cells showed bilobate appearance. Most cells of the tumors had no distinct basement membrane. Most cells of the tumors had a degenerative rough endoplasmic reticulum. Intercellular matrix contained some amounts of collagen. Attachment areas between tumor cells were not apparent, but a few tight junction were clearly seen. Myofibrils were present in bipolar end area

This study was to investigate the development pattern of epididymis in accordance with the growth of meat-type cockerels. Histological features of various ductules in epididymis of the cockerel on the age of weeks were within 10 weeks after hatching rete testis and connecting ductules were well developed but efferent ductules were observed in immature form. During 10th to 20th week, the lining epithelium of various ductules in epididymis was in the developing stage near to the mature form
