Purpose. Evaluate the genotype–environment interaction and identify the spring barley breeding lines with a combination of yield performance and stability in the multi-environment trials. Methods. Twelve barley breeding lines and standard variety ‘Vzirets’ were tested in three different ecological zones of Ukraine: Central Forest-Steppe, Polissia and Northern Steppe. To characterize the genotype–environment interaction and differentiate of breeding lines for yield and adaptability, a number of the most used methods were applied: S. A. Eberhart, W. A. Russel (1966); G. Wricke (1962); C. S. Lin, M. R. Binns (1988); M. Huehn (1990); A. V. Kilchevskiy, L. V. Khotyleva (1985); V. V. Khangildin, N. A. Litvinenko (1981); J. L. Purchase et al. (2000). Graphical analysis was performed with the AMMI model. Results. The high variation in the yield performance of spring barley breeding lines was revealed, which was determined both by the ecological and the weather conditions of the years of the research. The ANOVA revealed reliable contributions from all three source of the variation: genotype, environment and genotype–environment interaction. The part of influence for environment was the highest – 93.17%. The correlation between yield and individual stability indices was determined. Some indices estimated the stability only, without considering yield level. Other indices were related with the mean yield, with the maximum or minimum its limits. The breeding lines ‘Nutans 5152’, ‘Nutans 4982’, ‘Nutans 5069’ and ‘Nutans 5093’ with the optimal combination of yield performance and stability were identified. These breeding lines were transmitted to the Ukrainian Institute of Plant Varieties Examination for the qualification examination as new spring barley varieties ‘MIP Sharm’, ‘MIP Deviz’, ‘MIP Tytul’ and ‘MIP Zakhysnyk’, res­pectively. A number of breeding lines can be used in hybridization as a source of high adaptive potential for the suitable environmental conditions: Polissia – ‘Nutans 5061’, Polissia and Forest-Steppe – ‘Nutans 5081’ and ‘Nutans 4966’, Nor­thern Steppe – ‘Deficiens 5145’. Conclusions. Conducting multi-environment trials and processing experimental data in combination with statistical indices and AMMI promotes an in-depth assessment of the genotype–environment inte­raction and the identification the best of the best genotypes at the final stages of breeding process. | Мета. Оцінити взаємодію генотип–середовище та виділити селекційні лінії ячменю ярого з поєднанням потенціалу врожайності та стабільності в багатосередовищних випробуваннях. Методи. Дванадцять селекційних ліній ячменю ярого і стандарт сорт ‘Взірець’ досліджували у трьох різних екологічних зонах України: Центральний Лісостеп, Полісся та Північний Степ. Для характеристики взаємодії генотип–середовище та диференціації селекційних ліній за врожайністю і стабільністю використали низку найбільш поширених підходів: S. A. Eberhart, W. A. Russel (1966); G. Виявлена сильна мінливість врожайності селекційних ліній, яка зумовлювалась як екологічними, так і погодними умовами років досліджень. Дисперсійним аналізом виявлено достовірні вклади у варіацію генотипу, середовища та їх взаємодії. Частка умов середовища суттєво переважала інші – 93,17%. Визначена кореляція між врожайністю та окремими показниками стабільності. Низка параметрів оцінює тільки стабільність без урахування рівня врожайності. Інші параметри досить сильно пов’язані з середнім рівнем врожайності, або максимальним чи мінімальним її значенням. Виділені селекційні лінії ‘Нутанс 5152’, ‘Нутанс 4982’, ‘Нутанс 5069’ та ‘Нутанс 5093’ з оптимальнішим поєднанням потенціалу врожайності та стабільності. Дані лінії передані до Українського інституту експертизи сортів рослин для проведення кваліфікаційної експертизи як нові сорти ячменю ярого ‘МІП Шарм’, ‘МІП Девіз’, ‘МІП Титул’ та ‘МІП Захисник’, відповідно. Низка селекційних ліній може бути використана в гібридизації як джерело підвищеного адаптивного потенціалу для відповідних екологічних умов: Полісся – ‘Нутанс 5061’, Полісся та Лісостепу – ‘Нутанс 5081’ та ‘Нутанс 4966’, Північного Степу – ‘Дефіцієнс 5145’. Висновки. Проведення багатосередовищних екологічних випробувань та аналіз експериментальних даних поєднуючи статистичні показники і AMMI сприяє поглибленій оцінці взаємодії генотип–середовище та виділенню кращих з кращих генотипів на завершальних етапах селекційної роботи. | Цель. Выделены селекционные линии ‘Нутанс 5152’, ‘Нутанс 4982’, ‘Нутанс 5069’ и ‘Нутанс 5093’ с оптимальным сочетанием потенциала урожайности и стабильности. Данные линии переданы в Украинский институт экспертизы сортов растений для проведения квалификационной экспертизы как новые сорта ячменя ярового ‘МІП Шарм’, ‘МІП Девіз’, ‘МІП Титул’ и ‘МІП Захисник’ соответственно. Ряд селекционных линий могут быть использованы в гибридизации как источники повышенного адаптивного потенциала для соответствующих экологических условий: Полесье – ‘Нутанс 5061’, Полесья и Лесостепи – ‘Нутанс 5081’ и ‘Нутанс 4966’, Северной Степи – ‘Дефіцієнс 5145’. Выводы. Проведение многосредовых экологических испытаний и анализ экспериментальных данных в сочетании со статистическими показателями и AMMI способствуют углубленной оценке взаимодействия генотип–среда и выделению лучших из лучших генотипов на завершающих этапах селекционной работы.

Purpose. To define spring barley breeding lines with an optimal combination of yielding capacity and stability under different weather conditions in the Central Forest-Steppe zone of Ukraine. Methods. Field studies, ANOVA, AMMI, GGE biplot analysis. Results. Hydrothermal regime during interphase periods of spring barley vegetation under conditions of The V. M. Remeslo Myronivka Institute of Wheat of NAAS in 2012–2014 was characterized by significant variability, that facilitated detailed evaluation of the lines for productivity, stability, and resistance to abiotic and biotic factors. In the performance of an experiment, the highest average yielding capacity (5.87 t/ha) was noted in 2012, the lowest one (3.50 t/ha) was in 2013. As for these years, average yield of 4.63 t/ha was obtained in 2014. By applying AMMI and GGE biplot analysis, significant differences in response of the studied lines to variability of weather conditions was revealed. Using AMMI model, additive components of the main effects of the breeding lines and years of testing as well as multiplicative components of their interaction were characterized. GGE biplot genotypes ranking in relation to a hypothetical “ideal” genotype showed an absolute advantage of breeding line ‘Nutans 4540’ for yielding capacity and stability. In addition, breeding lines ‘Nutans 4241’ and ‘Nutans 4120’ were close to ideatype. Selected breeding lines were characterized by resistance and moderate resistance to leaf diseases and lodging. Conclusions. Use of AMMI and GGE biplot analysis to evaluate breeding lines at the final stages of breeding process allows to describe them thoroughly and graphically as well as differentiate them not only for average yielding capacity but also for their interaction with changing conditions during the years of testing. Breeding lines ‘Nutans 4540’, ‘Nutans 4241’, and ‘Nutans 4120’ to be identified for the stability of yielding capacity display in combination with other agronomic characters were transferred to the State variety testing as new spring barley varieties ‘MIP Myrnyi’, ‘MIP Saliut’, and ‘MIP Sotnyk’ respectively.

Purpose. To evaluate the varieties: ‘MIP Assol’, ‘Balada Myronivska’, ‘Hratsiia Myronivska’, ‘MIP Yuvileina’, ‘MIP Lada’, ‘MIP Dniprianka’ and the standard variety ‘Podolianka’ and promising breeding lines: ‘Erythrospermum 55023’, ‘Lutescens 22198’, ‘Lutescens 37519’, ‘Lutescens 60049’, ‘Lutescens 60107’ winter wheat of the Mironovka`s breeding according to grain quality indicators.Methods. The research was conducted during the 2019–2021 in the breeding crop rotation of the winter wheat breeding laboratory of the V. M. Remeslo Myronivka Institute of Wheat, NAАS of Ukraine. The main method of research was laboratory and field, supplemented by analytical studies, measurements, calculations and observations.Results. The following breeding lines were the best in terms of protein content during the first sowing period: ‘Erythrospermum 55023’ (11.9%), ‘Lutescens 55198’ (12.8%), ‘Lutescens 37519’ (11.7%) and ‘Lutescens 60107’ (10.7%). During the second sowing period, the best varieties and breeding lines turned out to be ‘Hratsiia Myronivska’ (11.4%), ‘MIP Dniprianka’ (12.3%), ‘Erythrospermum 55023’ (12.3 %), ‘Lutescens 55198’ (11.4%), ‘Lutescens 37519’ (12.3%) and ‘Lutescens 60049’ (12.8%). According to the grain vitrification index during the first sowing period, the following can be distinguished: ‘Balada Myronivska’ (86.7%), ‘MIP Lada’ (89.3%), ‘MIP Dniprianka’ (87.3%), ‘Erythrospermum 55023’ (86.3 %), ‘Lutescens 55198’ (94.3 %) and ‘Lutescens 37519’ (91.0 %). During the second sowing period, these were ‘Balada Myronivska’ (86.7%), ‘Hratsiia Myronivska’ (79.3%), ‘MIP Lada’ (85.0%), ‘MIP Dniprianka’ (81.7%) and breeding lines ‘Lutescens 55198’ (80.7%) and ‘Lutescens 60049’ (81.3%). According to the content of raw gluten, the variety ‘Hratsiia Myronivska’ (26.2%) was selected. For all studied breeding lines, the value of the crude gluten content indicator varied from 26.0% to 29.9%. Du­ring the second sowing period, a higher percentage of raw gluten content was noted in the varieties ‘Hratsiia Myronivska’ (29.9%) and ‘MIP Dniprianka’ (27.4%) and selection lines – ‘Erythrospermum 55023’ (28.4%), ‘Lutescens 55198’ (27.4%), ‘Lutescens 37519’ (27.1%) and ‘Lutescens 60049’ (29.1%).Conclusions. During the three years of observations, the weather conditions differed in the amount of precipitation and the sum of active temperatures both during the growing season and during the period of flowering and maturation, which significantly affected the results of the analysis of grain quality indicators of winter wheat varieties and promising lines. Having analyzed the obtained results, it is possible to single out the varieties ‘Hratsiia Myronivska’ and ‘MIP Dniprianka’, as well as the breeding lines: ‘Erythrospermum 55023’, ‘Lutescens 55198’, ‘Lutescens 37519’ and ‘Lutescens 60049’, which exceeded the standard variety ‘Podolianka’ and the average experimental values for such basic indicators as protein content, gluten content, vitreousness and 1000-seed weight. | Мета. Оцінити сорти ‘МІП Ассоль’, ‘Балада Миронівська’, ‘Грація Миронівська’, ‘МІП Ювілейна’, ‘МІП Лада’, ‘МІП Дніпрянка’ та сорт-стандарт ‘Подолянка’ і перспективні селекційні лінії ‘Еритроспермум 55023’, ‘Лютесценс 22198’, ‘Лютесценс 37519’, ‘Лютесценс 60049’ і ‘Лютесценс 60107’ пшениці озимої миронівської селекції за показниками якості зерна.Методи. Дослідження проводили впродовж 2019–2021 рр. у селекційній сівозміні лабораторії селекції озимої пшениці Миронівського інституту пшениці імені В. М. Ремесла НААН України. Основні методи досліджень – лабораторний, польовий та аналітичний, доповнені вимірами, підрахунками і спостереженнями.Результати. За вмістом білка протягом першого строку сівби кращими були такі селекційні лінії: ‘Еритроспермум 55023’ (11,9%), ‘Лютесценс 55198’ (12,8%), ‘Лютесценс 37519’ (11,7%) та ‘Лютесценс 60107’ (10,7%). Упродовж другого строку сівби кращими сортами та селекційними лініями виявились: ‘Грація МИР’ (11,4%), ‘МІП Дніпрянка’ (12,3%), ‘Еритроспермум 55023’ (12,3%), ‘Лютесценс 55198’ (11,4%), ‘Лютесценс 37519’ (12,3%) та ‘Лютесценс 60049’ (12,8%). За показником склоподібності зерна протягом першого строку сівби можна виділити: ‘Балада МИР’ (86,7%), ‘МІП Лада’ (89,3%), ‘МІП Дніпрянка’ (87,3%), ‘Еритроспермум 55023’ (86,3%), ‘Лютесценс 55198’ (94,3%) та ‘Лютесценс 37519’ (91,0%). Протягом другого строку сівби вищий відсоток вмісту сирої клейковини відмічено у сортів ‘Грація МИР’ (29,9%) та ‘МІП Дніпрянка’ (27,4%) і селекційних ліній ‘Еритроспермум 55023’ (28,4%), ‘Лютесценс 55198’ (27,4%), ‘Лютесценс 37519’ (27,1%) і ‘Лютесценс 60049’ (29,1%).Висновки. Впродовж трьох років спостережень погодні умови відрізнялися за кількістю опадів та сумою активних температур як у період вегетації, так і в період цвітіння – достигання, що суттєво вплинуло на результати аналізу якісних показників зерна сортів та перспективних ліній пшениці озимої. Проаналізувавши отримані результати, можна виділити сорти ‘Грація МИР’ і ‘МІП Дніпрянка’, а також селекційні лінії ‘ЕР 55023’, ‘ЛЮТ 55198’, ‘ЛЮТ 37519’ і ‘ЛЮТ 60049’, що перевищували сорт-стандарт ‘Подолянка’ та середнє значення по досліду за такими основними показниками, як вміст білка та клейковини, склоподібність і маса 1000 насінин

The article shows experimental data of interline hybrids of sugar beet on the basis of weight of 1000 seeds, genetic determination of characteristic based on the method of Hayman and topcrossed polytested crossbreeding is established, their comparison is made. It also highlights valuable hybrid combinations and valuable for combining pollinating lines used in the breeding to enhance properties of sowing seeds.

Purpose. Conduct a spectral assessment of winter wheat varieties (‘MIP Assol’, ‘Balada Myronivska’, ‘Hratsiia Myronivska’, ‘MIP Yuvileina’, ‘MIP Lada’, ‘MIP Dniprianka’, and standard ‘Podolianka’) and perspective breeding lines (‘Erythrospermum 55023’, ‘Lutescens 22198’, ‘Lutescens 37519’, ‘Lutescens 60049’, ‘Lutescens 60107’) of Myronivka Institute breeding during the flowering period and to evaluate the dependence of the obtained NDVI indicator on their productivity. Methods. The research was conducted during the 2018/19–2020/21 growing seasons in the breeding crop rotation of the winter wheat breeding laboratory of the V. M. Remeslo Myronivka Wheat Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. The main method of research is field, supplemented by analytical studies, measurements, calculations and observations. Obtaining values of vegetation indices of varieties and breeding lines of winter wheat was carried out using the Mavic zoom 2 UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) using the Parrot Sequoia multispectral camera. Pix4Dcapture and Pix4Dmapper programs were used to create an orthophoto map. Photographing was carried out with a multispectral camera at a height of 30 m above the level of the object under study in order to improve the quality of the orthophoto map with an overlap of 80% of the images and a time interval of 2 seconds. The NDVI index (normalized difference vegetation index) was calculated according to the appropriate formula. Results. According to the research results, regardless of the conditions of the year, in the first, optimal sowing period (25.09–05.10), the NDVI indicator in the flowering-ripening phase of wheat had higher values than in the second, late period (05–15.10) (average value over three years for the first semester was 0.69, the second – 0.62). In the course of the research, we established the dependence of the vegetation index NDVI on the level of productivity of wheat genotypes. The best varieties and promising lines among those studied were ‘MIP Lada’, ‘Lutescens 55198’ and ‘Lutescens 60049’, as well as ‘MIP Assol’ and ‘Hratsiia Myronivska’, which were less sensitive to sowing dates and had a higher index and control of yield indicators even with late sowing dates. Conclusions. Although existing today phenotyping methods need to be improved and localized, in the near future they will become an indispensable tool for the breeder, which will increase the volume of studied varieties and improve the quality of the results of morpho-biological analysis
