Purpose. To estimate genetic resources collection of soft winter wheat plants (new collection accessions) of Ustymivka Experimental Station for Plant Production and select initial material for breeding of adaptive, productive and qualitative soft winter wheat varieties. Methods. Field experiment, laboratory testing. Results. The authors pre- sented results of study of over 1000 samples of gene pool of soft winter wheat from 25 countries during 2001–2005 in Ustymivka Experimental Station for Plant Production of Plant Production Institute nd. a. V. Ya. Yuriev, NAAS of Ukraine for a complex of economic traits. More than 400 new sources with high adaptive properties were selected that combine traits of high productivity and high quality of grain, early ripening, resistance to biotic and abiotic fac- tors (the assessment of samples for 16 valuable traits is given). The selected material comes from various agro-cli- matic zones, including zones of unsustainable agriculture. Conclusions. Приведены результаты изучения свыше 1000 образцов генофонда пшеницы мягкой озимой из 25 стран Устимовской опытной станции растениеводства Института растениеводства имени В. Я. Юрьева НААН на протяжении 2001-2005 гг. по комплексу хозяйственно-ценных признаков. Выделено более 400 новых источников с высокими адаптивными свойствами, которые сочетают в себе признаки высокой продуктивности с высоким качеством зерна, скороспелостью, устойчивостью к биотическим и абиотическим факторам (приведена оценка образцов за 16 ценными признаками). Выделенный материал происходит из различных агроклиматических зон, в т. ч. из зон неустойчивого земледелия.Выводы. Рекомендуемые источники селекционно-ценных признаков позволят обогатить высококачественный сортимент пшеницы и значительно ускорить селекционный процесс при создании новых сортов пшеницы озимой мягкой. | Мета. Оцінити колекцію генетичних ресурсів рослин пшениці м’якої озимої (нові колекційні надходження) Устимівської дослідної станції рослинництва та виділити вихідний матеріал для селекції адаптивних, продуктивних та якісних її сортів.Методи. Польовий, лабораторний.Результати. Наведено результати вивчення понад 1000 зразків генофонду пшениці м’якої озимої з 25 країн в Устимівській дослідній станції рослинництва Інституту рослинництва ім. В. Я. Юр’єва НААН протягом 2001-2005 рр. за комплексом господарсько-цінних ознак. Виділено понад 400 нових джерел з високими адаптивними властивостями, які поєднують в собі ознаки високої продуктивності з високою якістю зерна, скоростиглістю, стійкістю до біотичних і абіотичних чинників (наведено оцінку зразків за 16 цінними ознаками). Виділений матеріал походить з різних агрокліматичних зон, у т. ч. із зон нестійкового землеробства.Висновки. Рекомендовані джерела селек3ційно-цінних ознак дадуть змогу збагатитит високоякісний сортимент пшениці й значно прискорити селекційний процес під час створення нових сортів пшениці м’якої озимої.

Диаллельные и топкроссные скрещивания, генетический анализ количественных признаков. Результаты. Исследована частота гетерозисных по признаку «сбор сахара» гибридных комбинаций сахарной свёклы, созданных на основе двух генетически ценных по элементам продуктивности линий-опылителей, ЦМС линий и простых стерильных гибридов с использованием диаллельной и топкросcной системы контролируемой гибридизации. Определены доли влияния родительских компонентов и их взаимодействия в изменчивости ЦМС гибридов по продуктивности. Обоснована целесообразность прогнозирования гетерозиса на основе линий с высокой комбинационной способностью. Выделены перс­пективные высокопродуктивные комбинации сахарной свеклы, превышающие групповой стандарт на 4,1–16,3%. Выводы. Подтверждена теория генетического баланса Н. В. Турбина. Лучшими гибридами по продуктивности признаны [МС 5ОТ 4]БЗ 1 (116,3%), [МС 1ОТ 2]БЗ 1 (112,5%) и [МС 3ОТ 5]БЗ 1 (113,2%), лучшими по комбинационной способности линиями – БЗ 1 и БЗ 2. | Мета. Досліджено частоту гетерозисних за ознакою «збір цукру» гібридних комбінацій цук­рових буряків, створених на основі двох генетично цінних за елементами продуктивності ліній-запилювачів, ЧС ліній і прос­тих стерильних гібридів з використанням діалельної й топкросної системи контрольованої гібридизації. Визначено частки впливу батьківських компонентів та їх взаємодії у мінливості ЧС гібридів за продуктивністю. Обґрунтовано доцільність прогнозування гетерозису на основі ліній з високою комбінаційною здатністю. Виділено перспективні високопродуктивні комбінації цукрових буряків, що перевищують груповий стандарт на 4,1–16,3%. Висновки. Підтверджено теорію генетичного балансу М. В. Турбіна. Кращими гібридами за продуктивністю визнано [ЧС 5ОТ 4]БЗ 1 (116,3%), [ЧС 1ОТ 2]БЗ 1 (112,5%) і [ЧС 3ОТ 5]БЗ 1 (113,2%), кращими за комбінаційною здатністю лінями – БЗ 1 та БЗ 2.

The current state of plant genetic resources conservation was analyzed in the context of the threat of gene­tic erosion. The importance of DNA banks was shown which function is to store DNA samples and associated products and disseminate them for research purposes. The main DNA banks in the world were described, including the Republican DNA Bank of Human, Animals, Plants and Microorganisms at the Institute of Genetics and Cytology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. Stages of DNA banking were considered: tissue sampling (usually from leaves), cell destruction, DNA extraction, DNA storage. Different methods of tissue sampling, extraction and DNA storage were compared. The need for Plant DNA Bank creation in Ukraine was highlighted. Conclusions. DNA collections is an important resource in the global effort to overcome the crisis in biodiversity, for managing world genetic resources and maximi­zing their potential.

Показана важность создания банков ДНК, функция которых заключается в сохранении образцов ДНК и ассоциированных продуктов и их распространении для научно-исследовательских целей. Представлено описание главных банков ДНК в мире, а также Республиканского банка ДНК человека, животных, растений и микроорганизмов в Институте генетики и цитологии НАН Беларуси. Рассмотрены этапы банкирования ДНК: сбор тканей (как правило, из листьев), разрушение клеток, экстракция ДНК, хранение ДНК. Осуществлено сравнение различных методов сбора тканей, экстракции и хранения ДНК. Поставлен вопрос о необходимости создания банка ДНК растений в Украине. Выводы. Коллекции ДНК являются важным ресурсом в рамках глобальных усилий по преодолению кризиса в сфере биоразнообразия, управления генетическими ресурсами в мире и максимального увеличения их потенциала. | Мета. Огляд літератури щодо сучасної стратегії збереження генетичних ресурсів рослин – створення банків ДНК. Результати. Проаналізовано стан збереження генетичних ресурсів рослин за умови загрози генетичної ерозії. Показано важливість створення банків ДНК, функція яких полягає у збереженні зразків ДНК і асоційованих продуктів та їх поширенні для науково-дослідних цілей. Наведено опис основних банків ДНК у світі, а також Республіканського банку ДНК людини, тварин, рослин і мікроорганізмів в Інституті генетики і цитології НАН Білорусі. Розглянуто етапи банкування ДНК: збирання тканин (як правило, з листя), руйнування клітин, екстракція ДНК, зберігання ДНК. Здійснено порівняння різних методів збирання тканин, екстракції та зберігання ДНК. Порушено питання про необхідність створення банку ДНК рослин в Україні. Висновки. Колекції ДНК є важливим ресурсом у рамках глобальних зусиль з подолання кризи у сфері біорізноманіття, управління генетичними ресурсами у світі та максимального збільшення їхнього потенціалу.

The analysis of allelic status of such key genes of carotenogenesis as gene of lycopene-ε-cyclase (lcyε) and gene of β-carotene hydroxylase (crtRB1) for DNA-markers in domestic maize lines and their hybrids. Methods. DNA isolation, PCR, gel electrophoresis. Results. Allelic status of key genes of carotenogenesis was investigated in eight maize inbred lines and their single crosses. Molecular genetic polymorphism in the studied sample of maize lines and hyb­rids has been detected in gene of β-carotene hydroxylase for marker crtRB1-3’TE. For this gene, codominant character of inheritance of alleles of parental lines in single crosses was confirmed. For markers of gene of lycopene-ε-cyclase lcyε-3’INDL and lcyε-SNP216, polymorphism in the group of investigated lines and hybrids has not been identified, genotypes included only one variant of alleles for each marker. For lines ‘DK253ZSZM’, ‘DK633/266zS,zM’, ‘DK366zS,zM’ and hybrids ‘DK296S×DK253ZSZM’, ‘DK272S×DK633/266zS,zM’ and ‘DK231S×DK366zS,zM’, the decrease of the activi­ty of β-carotene hydroxylase owing to the mutation of gene crtRB1 under the influence of transposone element at the 3’-end, the inhibition of β-carotene transition into β-cryptoxanthin can be expected, that allows to predict β-carotene accumulation in grain. Conclusions. The study of allelic status of carotenegenesis gene of lycopene-ε-cyclase in maize showed no polymorphism for markers lcyε-3’INDL and lcyε-SNP216 in eight inbred lines and their single crosses, along with this, for marker lcyε-3’INDL in genomes of all studied samples the allele was identified to be favorable for the accumulation of β-carotene. For marker crtRB1-3’TE of gene of β-carotene hydroxylase, the studied breeding material was polymorphic. Allele of crtRB1 being favorable for the accumulation of β-carotene was identified in lines ‘DK253ZSZM’, ‘DK633/266zS,zM’, ‘DK366zS,zM’ and hybrids ‘DK296S×DK253ZSZM’, ‘DK272S×DK633/266zS,zM’ and ‘DK231S×DK366zS,zM’. Single crosses inherit maternal and paternal alleles of gene of β-carotene hydroxylase codominantly.

Методы. Выделение ДНК, полимеразная цепная реакция, гель-электрофорез. Результаты. Исследовано аллельное состояние ключевых генов каротиногенеза у восьми инбредных линий кукурузы и их простых гибридов. Молекулярно-генетический полиморфизм в исследованной выборке линий и гибридов был выявлен по гену β-каротингидроксилазы для маркера crtRB1-3’TE. Для этого гена подтвержден кодоминантный характер наследования аллелей родительских линий в простых гибридах. По маркерам гена ликопин-ε-циклазы lcyε-3’INDL и lcyε-SNP216 среди исследованных линий и гибридов полиморфизма не было выявлено, изученные генотипы имели по одному варианту аллелей каждого маркера. Для линий ‘ДК253ЗСЗМ’, ‘ДК633/266зС,зМ’, ‘ДК366зС,зМ’ и гибридов ‘ДК296С×ДК253ЗСЗМ’, ‘ДК272С×ДК633/266зС,зМ’ и ‘ДК231С×ДК366зС,зМ’ следует ожидать снижения активнос­ти фермента β-каротингидроксилазы в результате мутации гена crtRB1 под воздействием транспозонового элемента на 3’-конце, ингибирования перехода β-каротина в β-криптоксантин, что позволяет прогнозировать накоп­ление β-каротина в зерне. Выводы. В результате проведенного исследования аллельного состояния генов каротиногенеза у кукурузы было установлено отсутствие полиморфизма по маркерам lcyε-3’INDL и lcyε-SNP216 гена ликопин-ε-циклазы у восьми инбредных линий и их простых гибридов, причем по маркеру lcyε-3’INDL в геномах всех изученных образцов содержится благоприятный для накопления β-каротина аллель. По маркеру crtRB1-3’TE гена β-каротингидроксилазы изученный селекционный материал оказался полиморфным. Благоприятный для накопления β-каротина аллель гена crtRB1 идентифицирован у линий ‘ДК253ЗСЗМ’, ‘ДК633/266зС,зМ’, ‘ДК366зС,зМ’ и гибридов ‘ДК296С×ДК253ЗСЗМ’, ‘ДК272С×ДК633/266зС,зМ’ и ‘ДК231С×ДК366зС,зМ’. Простые гибриды кодоминантно наследуют аллели гена β-каротингидроксилазы материнской и отцовской линий. | Мета. Аналіз алельного стану ключових генів каротиногенезу – гена лікопін-ε-циклази (lcyε) та гена β-каротингідроксилази (crtRB1) за ДНК-маркерами lcyε-3’INDL, lcyε-SNP216 та crtRB1-3’ТЕ у ліній кукурудзи вітчизняної селекції та їхніх гібридів. Методи. Виділення ДНК, полімеразна ланцюгова реакція, гель-електрофорез. Результати. Досліджено алельний стан ключових генів каротиногенезу за ДНК-маркерами у восьми інбредних ліній кукурудзи та їхніх простих гібридів. Молекулярно-генетичний поліморфізм у дослідженій добірці ліній і гібридів був виявлений за геном β-каротингідроксилази для маркера crtRB1-3’TE. Для цього гена підтверджено кодомінантний характер успадкування алелей батьківських ліній у простих гібридах. За маркерами гена лікопін-ε-циклази lcyε-3’INDL та lcyε-SNP216 серед досліджених ліній і гібридів поліморфізму не виявлено, вивчені генотипи містили лише по одному варіанту алелей кожного маркера. Для ліній ‘ДК253ЗСЗМ’, ‘ДК633/266зС,зМ’, ‘ДК366зС,зМ’ та гібридів ‘ДК296С×ДК253ЗСЗМ’, ‘ДК272С×ДК633/266зС,зМ’ і ‘ДК231С×ДК366зС,зМ’ слід очікувати зниження активності ферменту β-каротингідроксилази внаслідок мутації гена crtRB1 у разі впливу транспозонового елемента на 3’-кінці, а також інгібування переходу β-каротину в β-криптоксантин, що дає змогу прогнозувати накопичення β-каротину в зерні. Висновки. Внаслідок проведеного дослідження алельного стану генів каротиногенезу в кукурудзи було встановлено відсутність поліморфізму за маркерами lcyε-3’INDL та lcyε-SNP216 гена лікопін-ε-циклази у восьми інбредних ліній та їхніх простих гібридів, причому за маркером lcyε-3’INDL у геномах усіх досліджених зразків міститься сприятливий для накопичення β-каротину алель. За маркером crtRB1-3’TE гена β-каротингідроксилази досліджений селекційний матеріал виявився поліморфним. Сприятливий для накопичення β-каротину алель гена crtRB1 ідентифіковано в лініях ‘ДК253ЗСЗМ’, ‘ДК633/266зС,зМ’, ‘ДК366зС,зМ та гібридах ‘ДК296С×ДК253ЗСЗМ’, ‘ДК272С×ДК633/266зС,зМ’ і ‘ДК231С×ДК366зС,зМ’. Прості гібриди кодомінантно успадковують алелі гена β-каротингідроксилази материнської та батьківської ліній.

В связи с делением рода Sorbus s.l. на отдельные роды Sorbus s.str., Aria, Cormus, Chamaemespilus, Torminalis и наличием многочисленных гибридов с их участием, предложены украинские названия таксонов и нототаксонов родового и видового уровней и рассмотрены принципы их отбора. Образование родовых названий типа Японская айва, Альпийская ария, Домашняя рябина на основе видовых эпитетов приводит к нежелательной тавтономии. Обсуждены аспекты дерусификации украинской профессиональной терминологии. Выводы. Украинские научные родовые и нотородовые названия растений подтрибы Malinae являются транслитерированными/транскрибированными, скалькированными с латинских или имеют оригинальное происхождение, будучи одно- или двухсловными. Отбор лучших вариантов родовых и видовых названий из нескольких возможных имеет временную составляющую и во многом зависит от специалистов, которые их применяют, и принципов, на которых он основывается. Следует усовершенствовать современную украинскую номенклатуру растений на национальной основе с привлечением трансформированных латинских научных названий в отношении интродуцированных видов и гибридов. | Мета. Проаналізувати українську номенклатуру представників підтриби Malinae та удосконалити термінологічну систему українських назв видового й родового рівнів та назв плодових культур. Результати. Існує плутанина в українських назвах рослин родів Cydonia–Chaenomeles–Pseudocydonia, Mespilus–Eriobotrya, Amelanchier–Cotoneaster. З огляду на поділ роду Sorbus s.l. на окремі роди Sorbus s. str., Aria, Cormus, Chamaemespilus, Torminalis і наявність численних гібридів з їх залученням, запропоновано українські назви таксонів інототаксонів родового й видового рівнів та розглянуто принципи їхнього вибору. Утворення родових назв типу Японська айва, Альпійська арія, Домашня горобина на основі видових епітетів призводить до небажаної тавтономії. Обговорено аспекти дерусифікації української фахової термінології.Висновки. Українські наукові родові та нотородові назви назви рослин підтриби Malinae є транслітерованими/транскрибованими, скалькованими з латинських чи мають оригінальне походження, будучі одно- або двослівними. Вибір кращих варіантів родових і видових назв з декілько х можливих має часову складову й багато в чому залежить від фахівців, які їх вживають, та принципів, на яких вони ґрунтуються. Варто вдосконалювати сучасну українську номенклатуру рослин на національній основі із залученням трансформованих латинських наукових назв щодо інтродукованих видів і гібридів.

To establish adaptive capacity and reproduction time of the registered potato varieties elite bred at the Potato Research Institute of NAAS of Ukraine in various edaphic and climatic zones of Ukraine. Methods. Field and laboratory tests, statistical evaluation. Results. Potato varieties were tested in the Forest-Seppe, Polissia and Steppe zones of Ukraine. Over the years of testing (2012–2014), the highest yield of potatoes in the south-western part of the Forest-Steppe zone was produced by the early varieties: ‘Kimmeria’ – 46.9 t/ha, ‘Vedruska’ – 38.6 t/ha; middle-early varieties: ‘Partner’ – 33.2 t/ha, ‘Fantazia – 27.7 t/ha; mid-season varie­ties: ‘Okolytsia’ – 35.4 t/ha, ‘Mandrivnytsia’ – 25.1 t/ha. In the Central Polissia, ‘Kimmeria’ (31 t/ha) was the most productive early variety, the yield at the level of 27.6–29.2 t/ha was formed by such varieties as ‘Skarbnytsia’, ‘Serpanok’, ‘Radynka’, ‘Tyras’. Among the middle-early varieties, the yield of 33.1 t/ha was obtained from the variety ‘Partner’. In the conditions of Steppe zone, such early potato varieties as ‘Vymir’, ‘Glazurna’, ‘Strumok’, ‘Kimmeria’, ‘Svitoch’ and the middle-early variety ‘Ariya’ had the highest productivity in case of gro­wing as bivoltine crop under irrigated conditions. It was found that in the Forest-Steppe and Polissia zones such varieties as ‘Kimmeria’, ‘Vedruska, ‘Serpanok’, ‘Skarbnytsia, ‘Tyras’, ‘Radynka’, ‘Partner’, ‘Slovianka’, ‘Vernisazh’, ‘Mandrivnytsia’, ‘Poliske dzherelo’ and ‘Chervona ruta’ were characterized by high resistance to degeneration (viral diseases and loss of productivity of potato elite in the process of reproduction). According to the results of evaluation of the impact of elite potato reproduction time on affection by viral diseases, optimal time for elite renovation for investigated varieties was determined. Conclusions. In the process of testing in various edaphic and climatic zones of Ukraine, stable yield with a high seed tubers number, regardless of weather conditions during the growing season in the Forest-Steppe and Polissia zones, was formed by some early potato varieties (‘Kimmeria’, ‘Vedruska’, ‘Radynka) and middle-early one (‘Partner’). Among mid-season varieties ‘Vernisazh’, ‘Okolytsia’, ‘Mandrivnytsia’ were identified for high productivity, and among middle-late – ‘Poliske dzherelo’ and ‘Chervona ruta’. The most common viral diseases of potatoes were rugose mosaic and mosaic leaf curling. High efficiency of the use of bivoltine crop method for potato growing to obtain seed material in the Southern Steppe zone of Ukraine has been proved.

Установить адаптационную способность и сроки репродуцирования элиты зарегистрированных сортов картофеля селекции Института картофелеводства НААН в разных почвенно-климатических зонах Украины. Методы. Полевой, лабораторный, статистический. Результаты. Проведены испытания сортов картофеля в зонах Лесостепи, Полесья и Степи Украины. За годы исследований (2012–2014) самый высокий урожай картофеля в зоне юго-западной части Лесостепи был получен среди ранних сортов: ‘Киммерия’ – 46,9 т/га, ‘Ведруска’ – 38,6; среднеранних: ‘Партнер’ – 33,2, ‘Фантазия’ – 27,7; среднеспелых – ‘Околыця’ – 35,4, ‘Мандривныця’ – 25,1 т/га. В зоне Центрального Полесья самые высокие показатели среди ранних сортов обеспечил сорт ‘Киммерия’ – 31 т/га, уровень урожайности в пределах 27,6–29,2 т/га зафиксирован у сортов ‘Скарбныця’, ‘Серпанок’, ‘Радинка’, ‘Тирас’. Среди среднеранних сортов урожай на уровне 33,1 т/га получен у сорта Партнер. В условиях Степи самую высокую продуктивность картофеля при выращивании его в двухурожайной культуре с орошением получили у ранних сортов – ‘Вымир’, ‘Глазурна’, ‘Струмок’, ‘Киммерия’, ‘Свиточ’ и у среднераннего сорта ‘Ария’. Установлено, что в условиях зон Лесостепи и Полесья высокой устойчивостью к вырождению (поражение вирусными болезнями и снижение продуктивности элиты картофеля в процессе репродуцирования) характеризовались сорта ‘Киммерия’, ‘Ведруска’, ‘Серпанок’, ‘Скарбныця’, ‘Тирас’, ‘Радынка’, ‘Партнер’, ‘Словьянка’, ‘Вернисаж’, ‘Мандривныця’, ‘Полиське джерело’ и ‘Червона рута’. По результатам оценки влияния сроков репродуцирования элитного материала картофеля на поражение его вирусными болезнями установлены оптимальные сроки сортообновления элиты для исследуемых сортов. Выводы. При испытании в разных почвенно-климатических зонах Украины стабильные урожаи с высоким выходом семенных клубней, независимо от погодных условий вегетационного периода в зонах Лесостепи и Полесья, обеспечивают сорта картофеля ранней группы спелости, в частности ‘Киммерия’, ‘Ведруска’, ‘Радынка’, среднераннуй – сорт ‘Партнер’. Среди среднеспелых сортов по продуктивности были выделены ‘Вернисаж’, ‘Околыця’, ‘Мандривныця’, ‘Словьянка’, среди среднепоздних – ‘Полиське джерело’ и ‘Червона рута’. Самыми распространёнными вирусными болезнями картофеля были крапчатая мозаика и мозаичное закручивание лис­тьев. Доказана высокая эффективность использования метода двухурожайной культуры картофеля для получения семенного материала в Южной Степи Украины. | Мета. Встановити адаптивну здатність та терміни репродукування еліти зареєстрованих сортів картоплі селекції Інституту картоплярства НААН у різних ґрунтово-кліматичних зонах України. Методи. Польовий, лабораторний, статис­тичний. Результати. Проведено випробування сортів картоплі в зонах Лісостепу, Полісся та Степу України. В зоні центрального Полісся найвищі показники врожайності серед ранніх сортів забезпечив сорт ‘Кіммерія’ – 31,0 т/га, рівень урожайності в межах 27,6–29,2 т/га зафіксовано у сортів ‘Скарбниця’, ‘Серпанок’, ‘Радинка’, ‘Тирас’. Серед середньоранніх сортів урожай на рівні 33,1 т/га отримано у сорту ‘Партнер’. В умовах Степу найвищу продуктивність картоплі у разі вирощування її у двоврожайній культурі зі зрошенням отримано у ранніх сортів – ‘Вимір’, ‘Глазурна’, ‘Струмок’, ‘Кіммерія’, ‘Світоч’ та в середньораннього сорту ‘Арія’. Встановлено, що в умовах зон Лісостепу та Полісся високою стійкістю проти виродження (ураження вірусними хворобами та зниження продуктивності еліти картоплі в процесі репродукування) характеризувались сорти ‘Кіммерія’, ‘Ведруска’, ‘Серпанок’, ‘Скарбниця’, ‘Тирас’, ‘Радинка’, ‘Партнер’, ‘Слов’янка’, ‘Вернісаж’, ‘Мандрівниця’, ‘Поліське джерело’ та ‘Червона рута’. За результатами оцінки впливу терміну репродукування елітного матеріалу картоплі на ураженість його вірусними хворобами встановлено оптимальні строки сортооновлення еліти для досліджуваних сортів. Висновки. Під час випробування в різних ґрунтово-кліматичних зонах України стабільні врожаї з високим виходом насіннєвих бульб, незалежно від погодних умов вегетаційного періоду в зонах Лісостепу й Полісся, забезпечують сорти картоплі ранньої групи стиглості, зокрема ‘Кіммерія’, ‘Ведруска’, ‘Радинка’, середньоранньої – сорт ‘Партнер’. Серед середньостиглих сортів за продуктивністю були виділені ‘Вернісаж’, ‘Околиця’, ‘Мандрівниця’, ‘Слов’янка’, серед середньопізніх – ‘Поліське джерело’ й ‘Червона рута’. Найпоширенішими вірусними хворобами картоплі були крапчаста мозаїка та мозаїчне закручування листя. Доведено високу ефективність застосування методу двоурожайної культури картоплі для отримання насіннєвого матеріалу в Південному Степу України.

Purpose. To create new competitive spring wheat varieties. Methods. Field study, laboratory test. Results. Based on the competitive variety trial, bread spring wheat line ‘Lutescens 07-26’ has been selected due to high values of such traits as resistance to fungal diseases, grain qua­lity(protein content accounted for 15.0%), 1000 kernel weight (44.6 g) productivity (3.92 t/ha) and lodging resistance (9 points). In 2011, it was submitted to the State variety testing as ‘Panianka’ variety. Durum spring wheat line ‘Leukurum 08-11’ was characterized by a number of positive traits: quite a high productivity (3.05 t/ha), short stem (79 cm), resistance to fungal diseases and lodging(9 points), and in 2011 it was submitted to the State variety testing as ‘Diana’ variety. According to the results of the State variety testing in 2012–2014, spring wheat varieties ‘Panianka’ and ‘Diana’ in 2015 were put on the State Register of plant varieties suitable for dissemination in Ukraine. Conclusions. For farms in Forest-Steppe and Polissia zones of Ukraine, bread and durum spring wheat varieties were bred by V. M.Remeslo Myronivka Institute of Wheat of NAAS of Ukraine that demonstrated rather high potential of productivity and adaptability to stress conditions. This goes to prove that cultivation of domestic spring wheat varieties will promote formation of high and quality grain yields.

Based on the competitive variety trial, bread spring wheat line ‘Lutescens 07-26’ has been selected due to high values of such traits as resistance to fungal diseases, grain qua­lity(protein content accounted for 15.0%), 1000 kernel weight (44.6 g) productivity (3.92 t/ha) and lodging resistance (9 points). In 2011, it was submitted to the State variety testing as ‘Panianka’ variety. Durum spring wheat line ‘Leukurum 08-11’ was characterized by a number of positive traits: quite a high productivity (3.05 t/ha), short stem (79 cm), resistance to fungal diseases and lodging(9 points), and in 2011 it was submitted to the State variety testing as ‘Diana’ variety. According to the results of the State variety testing in 2012–2014, spring wheat varieties ‘Panianka’ and ‘Diana’ in 2015 were put on the State Register of plant varieties suitable for dissemination in Ukraine. Conclusions. For farms in Forest-Steppe and Polissia zones of Ukraine, bread and durum spring wheat varieties were bred by V. M.Remeslo Myronivka Institute of Wheat of NAAS of Ukraine that demonstrated rather high potential of productivity and adaptability to stress conditions. This goes to prove that cultivation of domestic spring wheat varieties will promote formation of high and quality grain yields. | Цель. Создать новые конкурентоспособные сорта пше­ницы яровой. Методы. Полевой, лабораторный. Результаты. По результатам конкурсного сортоиспытания выделена линия пшеницы мягкой яровой ‘Лютесценс 07-26’, которая характеризовалась высокими показателями таких признаков, как устойчивость против грибных болезней, качество зерна (содержание белка 15,0%), масса 1000 зерен (44,6 г), продуктивность (3,92 т/га), устойчивость к полеганию (9 баллов). В 2011 г. она была передана на Государственное сортоиспытание (ГСИ) как сорт ‘Панянка’. Линия пшеницы твердой яровой ‘Леукурум 08-11’ имела ряд положительных признаков: достаточно высо­кую продуктивность (3,05 т/га), низкорослость (79 см), ус­тойчивость против грибных болезней и полегания (9 баллов) и была передана в 2011 г. на Государственное сор­тоиспытание под названием ‘Диана’. По результатам ГСИ (2012–2014 гг.), в 2015 г. сорта пшеницы яровой ‘Панянка’ и ‘Диана’ внесены в Государственный реестр сортов растений, пригодных для распространения в Украине. Выводы. Для хозяйств лесостепной и полесской зон Украины созданы сорта пшеницы мягкой и твердой яровой селекции Мироновского института пшеницы имени В. М. Ремесло НААН Украины, которые проявляют достаточно высокий потенциал продуктивности и адаптивности к стрессовым условиям. Это свидетельствует о том, что выращивание отечественных сортов пшеницы яровой будет способствовать формированию высоких и качественных урожаев зерна | Мета. Створити нові конкурентоспроможні сорти пшениці ярої. Методи. Польовий, лабораторний. Результати. Для господарств лісостепової та поліської зон України створено сорти пшениці м’якої та твердої ярої селекції Миронівського інституту пшениці імені В. М. Ремесла НААН України, що проявляють досить високий потенціал продуктивності та адаптивності до стресових умов. Це свідчить про те, що вирощування вітчизняних сортів пшениці ярої сприятиме формуванню високих і якісних урожаїв зерна.

Results. It was found that more frequent spring and summer droughts as well as black frosts in winter adversely affected the strawberry productivity. The best varieties were selected among new ones for the complex of traits, they included ‘Elegance’ from the Great Britain, ‘Gercules’ from Ukraine (both are dessert grapes), ‘Elsanta’ from Holland (for universal use), ‘Alba’ from Italia (as raw material). The highly adaptive and productive ‘Istochnik’ and ‘Festyvalna romashka’ varieties (as raw material) are recommended for the north regions. Conclusions. In the context of profound climatic change, high-profitable cultivation of mid-ripening varieties and a strawberry as such in the Northern Forest-Steppe zone is expedient under controlled conditions – in high film tunnels, in hot-houses and under perennial irrigation that already has become the European tendency.

Сорта и элитные формы изучали по методике первичного сортоизучения и государственного сортоиспытания в трехлетних ягодниках в Институте садоводства НААН (г. Киев) и его сортоиспытательных станциях. Результаты. Установлено негативное влияние на продуктивность земляники все более частых весенних и летних засух, а зимой – значительных морозов при отсутствии снежного покрова. Лучшими по комплексу показателей среди новых сортов оказались английский ‘Элеганс’ (десертный), украинский ‘Геркулес’ (десертный), голландская ‘Эльсанта’ (универсального использования), итальянская ‘Альба’ (сырьевой). Высокоадаптивные и продуктивные сорта ‘Источник’ и ‘Фестивальная ромашка’ (сырьевые) рекомендуются для северных регионов. Выводы. В связи с кардинальными изменениями климата, высокоприбыльное выращивание как среднеспелых сортов, так и земляники в целом, при нынешних условиях Северной Лесостепи целесообразно в контролируемых условиях – в высоких плёночных туннелях, теплицах и при постоянном орошении, что уже является общеевропейской тенденцией. | Мета. Удосконалення сортименту суниці на основі комплексного вивчення та впровадження нових українських та західноєвропейських сортів. Методи. Сорти та елітні форми вивчали за методикою первинного сортовивчення й державного сортовипробування в трирічних ягідникахв Інституті садівництва НААН (м. Київ) та його сортодослідних станціях. Результати. Встановлено негативний вплив на продуктивність суниці дедалі частіших весняних і літніх посух, а взимку – значних морозів за відсутності снігового покриву. Кращими за комплексом ознак серед нових сортів виявилися англійський ‘Елеганс’ (десертний), український ‘Геркулес’ (десертний), голландська ‘Ельсанта’ (універсального використання), італійська ‘Альба’ (сировинний). Високоадаптивні та продуктивні сорти ‘Істочнік’ і ‘Фестивальна ромашка’ (сировинні) рекомендуються для північних регіонів. Висновки. У зв’язку з кардинальними змінами клімату високоприбуткове вирощування як середньостиглих сортів, так і суниці в цілому за нинішніх умов Північного Лісостепу є доцільним у контрольованих умовах – у високих плівкових тунелях, теплицях та з постійним зрошенням, що вже є загальноєвропейською тенденцією.

To select best modern cultivars for use in landscaping basing on evaluation of ornamental properties and economic characters. Methods. Field study, comparative analysis, generalization. Results. The collection of roses at M. M. Hryshko National Botanical Garden (the city of Kyiv) has been analyzed. After screening the collection, 141 hybrid tea rose varieties have been revealed. The collection of hybrid tea roses varieties has been analyzed for the countries of origin, flower color, years of breeding. Modern varieties (bred after 2000) has been described and their decorative value, economic characters has been estimated. Conclusion. The analysis of the collection of hybrid tea roses showed that most of them are varieties with red and pink flowers bred in 1961–2000 in countries of Western Europe. Evaluation of modern varieties for ornamental properties and economic characters allowed the authors to recommend 10 hybrid tea varieties for use in landscaping, namely: ‘Akvarel Rose Park’, ‘Alain Souchon’, ‘Aphrodite’, ‘Chippendale’, ‘Edith Piaf’, ‘Laetitia Casta’, ‘Line Renaud’, ‘My Girl’, ‘Pullman Orient Express’, ‘Terracotta’.

Historical review was done concerning the formation and development of scientific research of the Experimental Station of Medicinal Plants over the period 1916–2016. The main stages of experimenting in the direction of “medicinal plant cultivation’’ in Ukraine were covered. Role and importance of the Experimental Station of Medicinal Plants in the scientific and methodological support of such scientific directions as breeding, seed production, cultivation technologies, pharmacognosy in medicinal plant cultivation were shown. For the needs of the branch, over 100 species of introduced medicinal plants were studied at the Station and agricultu­ral techniques of their growing were developed, in addition, more than 50 varieties of medicinal plants were crea­ted, a number of machines and devices for growing, harves­ting and initial treatment of raw materials and seeds of the most important medicinal plants was designed. Other scientific achievements of the Station were mentioned and promising areas of medicinal plant research in Ukraine were outlined.
