New donors of short-stem dominant characteristic Gnom 1 (G1), Gnom 2 (G2), Gnom 3 (G3) have been created to the purpose of further increasing the yield of Winter Rye and effective redistribution of assimilation products to the benefits of the grain. Genetic and Statistical analysis of 10 selective characteristics of these donors has been conducted and options to improve them were determined. Application of G1 in the prospective breeding programs G1 on 10 characteristics would not create considerable difficulties. Engagement in the crossing of G2 and G3 donors may create complications in the expression of- productivity characteristics of the ear and plants in the progenies. Crossing used in transgress and combinative breeding is preferable for applying. Application of G3 may be accompanied with technical inconvenience in perfor-ming directed crossing. Application of G3 attracts by the creating conditions for uniting desirable height of plant with the constitutionnal components of Winter Rye productivity.

State of national recourses of Sown Lettuce is considered, as well as way of their formation. Methodological aspects of biological potential utilization of Sawn Salad (leaf, head, Rome, stem) are displayed to widen their assortment. Dependence of marginal potentially possible yield of the Sown Lettuce varieties on influence of the environmental causes has been established.

Results of research on application of plant growth regulators in cultivation of Onion Napiform from seeds in non-irrigated grain-vegetable crop rotation of Northeast Forest-steppe of Ukraine. Efficiency of seeds presowing damping was established, in the solutions of preparations Baikal EM and Emistim С and in the solution of preparation Emistim С for double use - of seeds presowing damping and of plants spraying in 5-6 leaves phase.

Quality of Spring Soft Wheat varieties listed in the State Register of Varieties of Ukraine for 2008, according to the grain quality indices (protein content, flour vigor, bread volume). Over 86% of Winter Wheat varieties bred by Ukrainian breeders are classified according to their quality to the strong and valuable, in contrast to 14 % of foreign varieties. This is the evidence of the Ukrainian breeding varieties ability to compete.

The fruit of apple scab immune hybrids, obtained from the targeted crossings for suitability for juice production, were estimated. The most perspective hybrids were selected. They are not inferior to the world juice cultivars in the basic technological characters (juice output), and even surpass them in a number of these characters (the content of SDS and P-active catechols in juice).

The results of cultivating of isolated apple anthers of immune to scab varieties are described. The peculiarities of callus formation using picloram are shown.

A technology of spring barley growing was described in the article, especially of its new varieties, provision of the brewing industry with high- quality malt through the diversification of planting areas and volumes of growing was explained, and establishment of the brewer’s barley market was described as well. Economical efficacy of the brewer’s and ordinary barley was calculated in order to provide a comparison.
