Good water supply for the "Crni Lug" hunting area [Serbia, Serbia&Montenegro] present state and future facilities
2003
Nikic, Z. (Univerzitet u Beogradu, Beograd (Serbia and Montenegro). Sumarski fakultet)
The fenced hunting area "Crni Lug" near Progar (Serbia, Serbia&Montenegro), included swamp tracts that have been drying. A natural environment of free game has changed over the last fifteen years. The unfavourable hydrological trend is explained by the antropogenic factor active in the hunting area and beyond it. The prevailing hydrogeological situation is interpreted and steps for rehabilitation of marshes are recommended. One of the emphsized goals is the supply of good water for animals throughout the year. Favourable hydrogeology and construction of adequate facilities in the hunting area will suffice for the revival of all activities related to water: flood control, agriculture, water supply, and hunting as a particularly profitable activity.

Ljubisavljevic, D. | Dakovic, S. (Univerzitet u Beogradu, Beograd (Serbia and Montenegro). Gradjevinski fakultet)
According to existing national Standard for drinking water quality NO3 sup(-) ion is limited to 50 mg/l. Removal of NO3 sup(-) concentration greater than this limit is necessary. One of the possible methods is biological denitrification with CH3OH. Principals of this method are described in this paper with recommendation for construction of pilot plan on the specific groundwater source.

2003
Vuksanovic, N. (Institut za biologiju mora, Kotor (Serbia and Montenegro))
Investigations of phytoplankton were done in the shallow Montenegrin coastal sea during the period from June to December, 2002. These investigations were the continuation from the preceding years. The main intention was to establish the impact of eutrophication to the quantity and composition of phytoplankton i.e. to establish the difference between areas in the bay and outside the bay. Like is previous years, the highest quantities of phytoplankton - microphytoplankton above all, were found in the area of the Boka Kotorska Bay (in Kotor Bay), Montenegro (Serbia&Montenegro). In July, 2.1 x 10**6 cells/cubic dm were found with dominant species Leptocylindrus minimus represented with 1.4 x 10**6 cells/cubic dm. In the area outside the Bay of Boka Kotorska, exposed to the impact of the open sea, values were significantly lower. In front of Budva, maximum was 1.7 x 10**5 cells/cubic dm in July. At locality exposed to the influence of the river Bojana (brackish water), similar values were established, except in October when 1.1 x 10**6 cells/cubic dm were found.

2003
Agbaba, J. (Prirodno-matematicki fakultet, Novi Sad (Serbia and Montenegro). Departman za hemiju) | Dalmacija, B. | Klasnja, M. | Ivancev-Tumbas, I.
The paper deals with pilot-scale investigations of the effect of preozonation on NOM removal from groundwater by coagulation and flocculation processes. It was found that the preozonation increased the efficiency of organic matter removal by coagulation and flocculation from 23.6 to 47.2% as judged on the basis of KMnO4 values. From the aspect of the change of content of trihalomethanes precursors preozonation exhibits both the positive and negative effects if their content in the water after coagulation is considered in dependence of the applied ozone dose. The obtained values siggest the necessity of careful optimization of the processes of preozonation, coagulation, and flocculation, especially from the aspect of the change in content of the precursors of disinfection byproducts.

2003
Mandic, S. (Institut za biologiju mora, Kotor - Dobrota (Serbia and Montenegro)) | Kljajic, Z. | Joksimovic, A. | Mickovic, B. | Hegedis, A.
Sasko Lake, with surface area of 3.4 square km and depth of about 8 m, is situated is southwestern part of Montenegro (Serbia&Montenegro), within the hydrosystem of Skadarsko Lake. During 2002 and 2003, seasonal dynamics of main hydrographic, physical, chemical and biological parameters of this ecosystem was monitored. Reference measuring spots are defined, and in these places all future monitoring of system state will be accomplished. Also done are the preliminary batimetric measurements and maps of spaces suitable for development of breeding activities. In order to develop aquaculture as a strategic interest of Montenegro (Serbia&Montenegro), it is necessary to utilize these important potentials and place this important natural resource in full fuction. Included are the list of all fish species living in the lake, as well as the suggestion of species that could be suitable for commercial breeding.

2003
Doklestic, O. (Opstina Herceg Novi, Herceg Novi (Serbia and Montenegro)) | Nicolaides, G.
This work presents a short review of the existing situation, nature conditions and recognised facts which are important for the sea- pollution of the oil, and another kind of the spill ship oils, inside of the Boka Bay and in the area of the open Adriatic Sea. The proposed original and innovative action concerns the large scale application of a new technique for a cleaning up waterborne oil spills, based on the magnetic separation method by using the material "CleanMag", an oleophillic, and porous material which also is magnetic with an increased density lower than that of the water.

Vukcevic, S. (Institut za tehnicka istrazivanja, Podgorica (Serbia and Montenegro)) | Vukmirovic, V. | Dakovic, S.
Degradation of groundwater quality whish is used as a raw water source, caused by the continuous pollution, develops gradually. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the pollution influence, on the first place by the expect concentration of hazardous substances in groundwater. Water source protection measures are based on the results of these analyses.

Stanisavljevic, M. (Fakultet zastite na radu, Nis (Serbia and Montenegro). Smer Zastita zivotne sredine) | Radanovic, B. (Garnizona ambulanta, Senta (Serbia and Montenegro))
In order to protect the water current of the river Tisza, the fermentation industry AD "Fermin" Senta, Serbia (Serbia&Montenegro) has built the biological waste water treatment plant for the waste water discharged from the yeasts producing factory, which started the production in 1982. So far the output of the plant can be definied as not equal to the designed capacity level. The results of four effect analyses have been shown in the tabelar survey as well as the technological block scheme of both the current and suggested solution projects. The suggested solution basically contains phase separation in anaerobic procedure and the intraduction of tertial treatment method (nitrification and denitrification). The paper presents a contribution to optimal technology of industrial waste water treatment.

Boreli-Zdravkovic, Dj. | Radenkovic, Z. (Institut za vodoprivredu "Jaroslav Cerni", Beograd (Serbia and Montenegro))
Concentrations of nitrate above defined levels for portable water are present in most of the groundwater sources in Velika Morava river alluvion. Some problems exists in Meminac and Kljuc, groundwater sources of Pozarevac town. Some detail investigations were organized in 2002. Survey of groundwater quality in the wide surrounding of Kljuc confirmed some earlier made assumptions about influence of agriculture and sewage water, and their contribution to existing groundwater quality.
