2003
Savic, R. (Poljoprivredni fakultet, Novi Sad (Serbia and Montenegro). Departman za uredjenje voda) | Belic, A. | Pantelic, S. | Bozinovic, M.
Importance of sediments quantity and quality problems addressing to land reclamation canal network in Vojvodina (Serbia, Serbia&Montenegro) are pointed out in this paper. Necessity for sediments monitoring and criteria definition for environmental discharge are drown. Special attention is paid to agricultural land as recipient of these sediments.
Show more [+] Less [-]Dependence of trihalomethanes forming on contents of natural organic matters in coagulated water
2003
Bajevic, Lj. (Visa tehnicka skola, Zrenjanin (Serbia and Montenegro)) | Karlovic, E. | Jasin, D. | Agbaba, J. | Djeric, J.
The paper deals with determining the dependence of trihalomethanes forming (chloroform, bromdichlormethane, dibromchlormethane and bromoform) on the contents of natural organic matters from groundwater. The analyses was made bay calculating correlation of trihalomethanes forming potential (THMPF) with UV absorbance and permanganate number as surogates parameters for defining in content NOM in water. These were used to observe the changes in the content of organic matters after coagulation. A good correlation of THMPF, PF chloroform and UV absorbance (254 nm) (coeficient of correlation 0.72 and 0.87) was observed as well as a good with UV absorbance (254 nm) (coeficient of correlation - 0.88) and with PN (coeficient of correlation - 0.80) in coeficient of correlation in bromated trihalomethanes forming.

2003
Nedic, L. (Strucna skola "Sveti Sava", Bujanovac (Serbia and Montenegro)) | Stanisavljevic, M.
This paper presents a process for phenol removal comprising a reaction step in which phenol is polymerized in the presence of an enzyme horseradish peroxidase. A crude preparation from horseradish roots was used as a low purity source of the enzyme. The technical feasibility of the process was studied using 1 to 10 mM synthetic phenol solutions. Experimental results showed the potential of the proposed technique. A phenol conversion higher than 90% was observed at the polymerization process.

2003
Radenkovic, Z. (Institut za vodoprivredu "Jaroslav Cerni", Beograd (Serbia and Montenegro)) | Jevtic, G. | Josipovic, J. | Jevtic, O.
Nis Tobacco Factory, Serbia (Serbia&Montenegro) has water supply from two resources, public water supply system and from its dug well. In periods of water shortages and smaller deliveries from public water supply system (e.g. recession periods) it is necessary to provide additional water quantities for proper functioning of tobacco refinement. For that purpose capability for utilization of terrace deposits for water supply was analyzed.

2003
Perovic, S. (Kombinat aluminijuma, Podgorica (Serbia and Montenegro)) | Kolinovic, R. | Grzetic, I.
Processes like QMS (Quality management systems) and EMS (Environmental management systems) consist of series of procedures/elements, among which are operative or working procedures. One of these procedures is control of waste waters from the Aluminium Plant in Podgorica, Montenegro (Serbia&Montenegro). This procedure controls the order of activities, the responsibility, the input and output documents, with the exclusive aim to measure the effects of protection of surface and underground waters and to review the EMS of the company for the waste waters.

2003
Pusic, M. (Rudarsko-geoloski fakultet, Beograd (Serbia and Montenegro)) | Djuric, D. (Institut za vodoprivredu "Jaroslav Cerni", Beograd (Serbia and Montenegro))
According to Water Plan of the Republic of Serbia the area between Kovin and Dubovac was marked as a possible place for water source for regional water supply of towns and industry of South Backa Region (Serbia). Commencement of underwater coal exploitation was at the beginning of 1990's in the Danube riparian zone near Dubovacka Ada. Potential influence of long-term underwater coal exploitation from "Kovin" trial coal pit on Dubovacka Ada on quality and quantity of groundwater that will be extracted from regional water source is analysed in this article.
Show more [+] Less [-]Sediment quality in the iron gate reservoir [Serbia, Serbia&Montenegro]. [Preliminary communication from scientific-research project]
2003
Damjanovic, M. | Babic-Mladenovic, M. (Institut za vodoprivredu Jaroslav Cerni, Beograd (Serbia and Montenegro))
Regular monitoring of water quality of the Danube river in the backwater zone includes analysis of the sediment. It is well known that sediment is a sink place for the non degradable compounds and it reveales the long term water quality status in the reservoir. This paper presents the general results on the Iron Gate reservoir siltation. as well as some data regarding pollution level, based on investigations carried in the period of 2001-2002. The investigations included organic load of the sediment, heavy metals and organic pollutants content. The degree of pollution is evaluated on the basis of various criteria, also compared to results of previous case studies.

2003
Radenkovic, Z. | Borelli-Zdravkovic, Dj. (Institut za vodoprivredu "Jaroslav Cerni", Beograd (Serbia and Montenegro))
The town Pozarevac water supply is endangered due to groundwater quality degradation on the only remaining water source Kljuc 1. Nitrate content presents critical parameter (MCL in potable water is 50 mg NO3/l) with values in cumulative samples up to 40-45 mg NO3/l, locally up to 70-100 mg NO3/l. Rapid water quality degradation on water source in the last few years is a consequence of the surrounding activities which have influenced on quality deterioration, excessive groundwater extraction, off-line of water source Meminac, unfavourable hydrologic conditions etc.

Ristanovic, B. E-mail:[email protected] | Jokic, I. | Bojanic, D.(Prirodno-matematicki fakultet, Novi Sad (Serbia and Montenegro). Departman za geografiju, turizam i hotelijerstvo)
Redudance rivers are basic hydrographic problem in area of Radjevina. Their appearance to associate for most rivers in the confluence of Likorda river and have character of season. Using method of quantity index the rivers of this region are classified in special hydrological classes. On the basis of this typology the possible models for solution of this problem are given.

Water samples for chemical and microbiological analyses as well as material of the water community to be considered in the assessment of qualitative and quantitative composition of phyto- and zooplankton, and bottom fauna were take on 30 May 2001 at two profiles. Judging by the most of the analyzed chemical parameters, with the exception of BOD5 and oxygen saturation values indicating class 2, water of the Bovan lake accumulation belongs to the 1st class of water quality. According to the presence of heterotrophic bacteria, water was characterized as class 1-2 (after Kohl). Also, 6 groups of phyto- and 4 groups of zooplankton were recorded. Relative abundance and qualitative composition values of plankton show that saprobic index ranged from 1.54 to 1.98 pointing out oligo-beta, namely beta-mesosaprobic character of the accumulation. Saprobic index when oligochaetes were considered amounted up to 3.6 (alfa-mesosaprobic water).
