Investigation of pressure oscillation in hydraulic hitch-system

This paper presents results of pressure oscillation investigation in hydraulic hitch-system of a tractor Claas Ares ATX 557 during the motion during artificial roughness road test. During experiments oscillation at different driving speed, tyre pressure and hitch-system oscillation damping (turned on/off) were investigated. Tractor hydraulic hitch-system was equipped with a pressure sensor Wika Transmitter ECO-1 and data processing software PicoLog. Results of experiments present maximum pressure peak of 210 bar in the tractor hydraulic system when hydraulic hitch-system oscillation damping system at driving speed 8 km·hE-1 is not used and system pressure peak reduces to value of 180 bar if the hydraulic hitch-system oscillation damping is used.

In order to perceive the pressure oscillation in the hydraulic hitch-system of the tractor and oscillation of the whole tractor aggregate at different loads on the hitch-system, a physical model is used. Changing the position of weight on physical implement boom, different moments of inertia were obtained and the appropriate load on the hydraulic hitch-system hydro cylinder. Results of driving experiments on the artificial roughness road present the maximum pressure peak of 220 bar in the tractor hydraulic system when weight was placed on further position, and the driving speed was 8 km hE-1 and tyre pressure was 1.2 bar. At the driving speed of 11.2 km hE-1 and with the same tyre pressure, the hydraulic system pressures reached up to 212 bar. On the weight on the middle position of boom, pressure in the hydraulic hitch-system reached 172 bar at the driving speed of 7.8 km hE-1 and tyre pressure of 1.2 bar, but at the driving speed of 11.2 km hE-1 and at the same tyre pressure, the hydraulic system pressures reached 165 bar. If the weight was placed on nearest position, pressure in the hydraulic hitch-system reached only 85 bar at the driving speed of 7.8 km hE-1 and tyre pressure - 1.2 bar, but at the driving speed of 11.2 km hE-1 and at the same tyre pressure, it was 98 bar. The investigation of the physical tractor-implement model allows the determination of the conformity of the physical model with real harrow implement.

In the process of biological wastewater treatment, P-removal is efficient enough when the concentration of organic pollutants according to BOD5 (biochemical oxygen demand) is no higher than 190 mg lE-1 of O2 and its relationship with phosphorus does not exceed 20. Having studied the composition of wastewater from dairy farms it was determined that wastewater pollution according to BOD5 is from 800 to 900 mg lE-1 of O2 and the ratio of BOD5/Ptotal is 30-36. The paper gives the results of the tests on P-removal from wastewater carried out in a laboratory model. During investigations wastewater was flowing via mineral filters (filtralite P (FLP), zeolite (CE), and shulgite (SG)). Total amount of Ca, Fe and Al oxides contained in those filters were 23.0, 16.1 and 7.9% respectively. The rates of P-removal from wastewater in the filters were as follows: 88.5% (FLP), 45.5% (CE), and 96.3% (SG). Considering different hydraulic load, P-mass balance was calculated. The calculation results showed the following P absorption amounts: FLP - 5.08 g dE-1, CE - 1.76 g dE-1, and SG - 3.91 g dE-1 (calculated for 1 m**3 of each filter). Wastewater filtration through mineral media resulted in the removal of other pollutants, too: organic pollutants removal (according to BOD5) was 30.8 to 72.5%, and the removal of nitrogen compounds (more than 90% of which were in the form of ammonium salts) was even 93.2% in CE filter.

To investigate flood and hydraulic parameters of the river, the hydraulic models of the river Daugava near Jekabpils have been built at the Rural Engineering Faculty of the Latvia University of Agriculture and at the Research Scientific Institute of Water Managmenet and Land. Several possible solutions have bee proposed as a results of these investigations, though only the most effective and economically acceptable variant should be selected.
