The aim of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of biased estimation methods, principal component regression (PC) and ridge regression (RR) methods, according to unbiased the least squares (LS) method, against the multiple linearity problem (multicollinearity) encountered in regression methods. For this purpose to fit a model on account to predict body weight from some body measurements of 32 South Anatolian Red Kilis (SAR) cattle of different ages. R2, RMSE, MSE, and CV were used as the goodness of fit criteria for the performance of the models. According to these criteria respectively, 0.9970, 0.0224, 0.0005, 0.0099 for LS; 0.9970, 0.0224, 0.0005, 0.0099 for PC; and 0.9876, 0.0455, 0.0021, 0.0201 of k=0.02 for RR gave the best fit values. According to these results, LR and PC showed the best fit. But RR and PC techniques from biased prediction techniques provided more consistent, valid, stable, and theoretical expectations than LS technique, since LR did not provide the necessary assumptions.

The visual perception of landscapes is expressed as seeing the qualities of the landscape. This level of perception varies depending on the socio-cultural and economic structure of the people and the environment in which they live. The fact that the environment in which people live has a variable visual structure also constantly affects their landscape perception. Parks are one of the important urban landscape areas in cities. The existing structure of the parks located in the urban landscape areas affects the visual perception value of these areas on the users. The aim of the research is to evaluate the visual landscape quality value of the parks in the city of Serik in the direction of user opinions. In this context, the photographs of the selected parks within the boundaries of the research area were taken from certain points. The questionnaire form prepared with these photographs was applied to the park users on a voluntary basis. The data obtained from the questionnaire forms were digitized and analyzed. Within the scope of the analysis, the data belonging to the socio-demographic structure of the participants and the answers they gave to the propositions about the parks were determined by descriptive analysis (frequencies and descriptives). Whether there was a statistically significant difference between the sociodemographic structure of the participants and their answers to the propositions was analyzed with parametric tests (independent sample t-test and one-way analysis of variance). At the same time, the relationship between the visual landscape quality assessment criteria of the parks was examined by Pearson Correlation Analysis. The results of the analysis show that the features of the parks due to their planning, design and maintenance affect the visual landscape quality values. In this direction, suggestions have been developed to increase the visual landscape quality value of the parks.

In this study, it is aimed to determine the technical and economical specifications of the used tractors put to sale in Tokat province and its districts, such as rated engine power, age, usage hours, tractor structure, maintenance and repair requirements and sale price. Also, it is intended to reveal the tendencies of farmers in tractor demand. The technical and economical specifications of used tractors in the second-hand tractor market in Tokat province and its districts has been analysed. For this purpose, all data has been collected from tractor owners through face-to-face interviews for a total of 408 tractors in 7 districts. According to the data, generally the tractors are standard type, and their age range is between 1 and 58. Based on the data collected from tractor owners, the average annual usage time of the tractors for Tokat is 268 hours, and the average rated power is 58.5 HP (43.6 kW). The remarkable sale reasons of used tractors are model obsolescence, insufficient capacity and need for cash respectively. In the second-hand tractor market, the age of the tractors, rated engine power, brand, usage hours and other technical specifications are primarily factors about pricing. Although 41% of the tractors in the sale have almost completed their lifespan, it has been determined that they can be preferred to some extent. It has been also revealed that tractors with very good service network and tractors that tractor owners can find buyers with the price that they want to sale are most common tractor types in the market. In addition, it is thought that the farmers’ awareness should be developed because they tend to make unconscious buying and selling decisions.

It is required to increase the amount of coagulant enzyme substitutes obtained from various sources that are equivalent to animal rennet in order to meet the rising demand for cheese. This study looked into the availability of plant-based enzymes as an alternative to rennet made from animals and microorganisms, which are frequently employed in the manufacturing of white cheese. Using animal (100% chymosin), microbial (obtained from Muchor miehei), and plant-based (Safflower seed, 80% chymosin-20 percent pepsin, purified from Cartamus tinctorius L.) enzymes, 6 varieties of raw and pasteurized milk cheese were made for this purpose. The values of SH, ripening index, water-soluble nitrogen (WSN), nitrogen dissolved in trichloroacetic acid (TCA), and yeast-mold increased after storage in cheeses made with various coagulant enzymes. During storage, the values for dry matter, pH, protein, Total Aerobic Mesophilic Bacteria (TAMB), lactobacilli, lactococci and coliforms all reduced. In terms of L*, a* and b* values, different rennet usage was discovered to be significant among cheese samples. The casein protein began to hydrolyze and the strength of the bands decreased in SDS-PAGE with the breakdown of the αs-casein and β-casein fractions on the 90th day of maturation in P1 and P4 numbered cheeses, which used plant-based enzyme made from raw and pasteurized milk. These changes in casein fractions resulted in a bitter taste in cheese made with plant-based enzymes. The use of plant-based enzymes in the manufacturing of white cheese was shown to produce results that were comparable to those of animal and microbial enzymes and did not have any negative effects on the cheese's physicochemical and microbiological quality parameters. When making fresh white cheese, the plant-based enzyme extracted from Carthamus tinctorius L. can be employed as a promising source of plant coagulants.
