First record of the nymph of Caenis cuniana Froehlich, 1969 (Caenidae: Ephemeroptera) and new distributional records of Caenidae from Colombia

In Colombia have been recorded eight species of the family Caenidae distributed in three states, at the moment do not exist species reported in the Meta state. In this paper, Caenis cuniana Froehlich, 1969 (Caenidae: Ephemeroptera) is registered for the first time from Colombia, in the same way, Brasilocaenis irmleri Puthz, 1975 and Caenis chamie Alba-Tercedor & Mosquera, 1999 expanded your geographical distribution in the Colombian Orinoquia region.

In this article we present the historical records of the Brazilian hawkmoths deposited in the Entomological Collection of the Museu de História Natural da Bahia (MHNBA-UFBA), including the historical Lepidoptera collection donated by Dr. Pedro de Araújo to the MHNBA-UFBA. The Sphingidae collection is composed of 243 specimens and represents 24 genera and 66 species. The historical collection consists of specimens captured between the years 1924 and 1934, and we also included to the collection specimens that were captured more recently, between 1982 and 2014. The subfamily Macroglossinae presented the greatest species richness and Smerinthinae the presented the least species richness. Of all of specimens in the collection, 151 came from São Paulo State (Brazil), 41 from Santa Catarina State, 50 from Bahia State and only one from Pernambuco State. Three topotypes were identified in the collection, namely: Eumorpha translineatus (Rothschild, 1895), Xylophanes crenulata Vaglia & Haxaire, 2009 and Xylophanes alineae Haxaire & Mielke, 2018.

Costalimaita ferruginea (Fabricius) (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae) is the main Coleoptera defoliator of eucalyptus in Brazil and has a strong association with plants of the family Myrtaceae, bein the eucalyptus important for the sectors of energy, paper, pulp and furniture industry. The objective of the present study was to record the occurrence of this Chrysomelidae in eucalyptus plants in Sinop, State of Mato Grosso, Brazil, during the months of November 2010 to January 2011, thus contributing to increase in knowledge on the geographic distribution of this insect and also hypothesize that the Coleoptera may soon become a major pest of eucalyptus in the state of Mato Grosso.Novo Registro de Costalimaita ferruginea (Fabricius) (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae) em plantas de Eucalyptus sp. O objetivo deste estudo foi registrar a ocorrência desse Chrysomelidae em plantas de eucalipto município de Sinop, Mato Grosso, Brasil, durante os meses de novembro de 2010 a janeiro de 2011, contribuindo assim para o aumento no conhecimento sobre a distribuição geográfica desse inseto e ainda, lançar a hipótese de que brevemente esse Coleoptera poderá ser tornar uma importante praga da eucaliptocultura do estado de Mato Grosso.

Este trabalho apresenta um checklist da fauna de Orthoptera, Caelifera (Acridoidea e Eumastacoidea), do estado do Rio de Janeiro, Brasil. Este artigo foi baseado no material depositado na Coleção de Orthoptera, Caelifera do Museu Nacional do Rio de Janeiro e em citações da literatura pertinente. Os resultados da pesquisa demonstram que os Caelifera do estado do Rio de Janeiro estão representados por duas superfamílias, Acridoidea e Eumastacoidea, quatro famílias (Proscopiidae, Ommexechidae, Acrididae e Romaleidae), subdivididos em 10 subfamílias, 16 tribos, 46 gêneros, 48 espécies e oito subspécies. Neste trabalho estão incluídas as listas de sinonímias para cada espécie, distribuição geográfica, localização dos tipos e principais referências bibliográficas.Checklist of Caelifera (Acridoidea and Eumastacoidea) of Rio de Janeiro State (Orthoptera)Abstract.
