Se analiza en juveniles en etapa de engorde (7 g) de Cherax quadricarinatus, el ritmo circadiano de los niveles de proteínas totales, la actividad de las proteasas, lipasas y amilasas, y su posible modificación en función del momento de alimentación matutino (8 h) y vespertino (17 h). En general, la actividad de las enzimas digestivas de los juveniles de C. quadricarinatus no mostró un patrón circadiano de secreción, a excepción de las lipasas, donde se observó un incremento de actividad hacia la tarde-noche y disminución hacia las primeras horas de la mañana. Los niveles de proteína total, la actividad de proteinasas y amilasas registradas en la glándula digestiva, permanecieron prácticamente inalterados en todos los experimentos. A pesar de ello, se observó tendencia a que los niveles de actividad de proteinasas disminuyan luego del pulso de alimentación, recuperando los niveles anteriores 3 h después, independientemente del horario de alimentación. En cambio la actividad de amilasa no mostró ninguna tendencia por efecto del horario de alimentación. El estudio de los patrones de secreción de las enzimas digestivas y sus posibles modificaciones, podría ser utilizado como una herramienta para establecer los momentos del día más propicios para la alimentación de los juveniles en cultivo. | ABSTRACT. We analyze in juvenile Cherax quadricarinatus fattening stage, the circadian rhythm of total protein levels, activity of proteases, lipases and amylases, and their possible change as a function of morning (8 h) and evening (17 h) feeding. In general, the activity of digestive enzymes of juvenile C. quadricarinatus showed no circadian pattern of secretion of lipases except where there was an increase towards the evening-night and a decrease towards the early hours of the morning. The total protein levels, the activity of proteinases and amylases of juveniles of C. quadricarinatus registered in the midgut gland remained virtually unchanged in all experiments. However, a non-significant tendency to diminish the proteinase activity levels after the feeding pulse was observed, with a return to previous enzymatic levels after 3 h. In contrast, the amylase activity did not show an observable effect by the feeding schedule. The study of the patterns of the digestive enzyme secretion and their possible changes, could be used as a tool to establish the most favorable times of the day for juveniles feeding. | Fil: Sacristán, Hernán Javier. This scientific opinion of the EFSA Panel on Food Contact Materials, Enzymes, Flavourings and Processing Aids deals with the safety evaluation of iron based oxygen absorber systems comprising iron, sodium chloride, water, silica gel, activated carbon, monosodium glutamate, potassium acid tartrate, powdered cellulose, malic acid, chabazite, hydroxypropyl cellulose, potassium carbonate, sodium thiosulfate, propylene glycol, glycerin, polyethyleneglycol sorbitan monooleate, sodium propionate and clinoptilolite, incorporated in sachets, patches and cards. Iron, the main active ingredient reacts with oxygen to form iron hydroxide and iron oxide, thereby removing oxygen from the primary packaging. Only activated carbon has not been evaluated as such, but it meets the specifications for activated charcoal which is authorised as additive for plastic materials and articles in contact with foods. All other ingredients of the oxygen absorber formulations have been evaluated and approved for use as additives in plastic food contact materials and/or as food additives and/or food supplements or feed additives. The active system being based on solid ingredients and not intended for direct contact with liquid food or food with an external liquid surface, migration through the gas phase was screened for 9 representative active systems. No volatiles derived from the active mixtures were detected. Therefore the CEF Panel concluded that the substances do not raise a safety concern when used in oxygen absorbers in sachets, patches or cards, placed in the headspace of the packaging or when used in direct contact with food, excluding liquid food or foods that have an external aqueous liquid phase on the surface such as sliced fruits and fresh meat.

Objetivou-se no presente estudo determinar o consumo, digestibilidade aparente da matéria seca e nutrientes, além dos balanços de nitrogênio (BN) e hídrico (BH), de ovinos alimentados com silagens de capim-búfel. As silagens das cultivares de capim-búfel avaliadas foram Tanzânia, Buchuma e Biloela. Utilizaram-se 21 ovinos, machos, castrados, mestiços Santa Inês x Sem Padrão de Raça Definido, com peso corporal médio inicial de 31,8±3,16kg, mantidos em gaiolas metabólicas. Foi utilizado um delineamento inteiramente casualizado com sete repetições. Não foram observadas diferenças nos consumos de MS em g/dia (919,2) e porcentagem do peso corporal (2,9). De modo geral, os coeficientes de digestibilidade da matéria seca variaram de 37,7% a 60,0%. Os BN e BH foram positivos, sendo observados maiores valores de BN para os ovinos alimentados com silagens de capim-búfel dos cultivares Tanzânia (5,1g/dia) e Biloela (3,9g/dia), e maiores BH para os animais alimentados com silagens de capim-búfel dos cultivares Buchuma (1,38kg/animal/dia) e Biloela (1,42kg/animal/dia). Os cultivares de capim-búfel Tanzânia, Buchuma e Biloela apresentaram bom valor nutritivo, sendo que o capim-búfel na forma de silagem promoveu 60% do consumo total de água diário do animal.<br>The objective of this present experiment was to determine intake and apparent digestibility of dry matter and nutrients, nitrogen (NB) and water balances (WB) of sheep fed with buffel grass silages. The buffel grass cultivars used were Tanzania, Buchuma and Biloela. 21 male, castrated, crossbred Santa Ines x Non defined genotype sheep, with initial body weight of 31.8±3.16kg were used, kept in metabolic cages. The experimental design was completely randomized with seven replicates. No differences were observed in dry matter intake in g/day (919.2) and % of body weight (2.9). In general, digestibility coefficients of dry matter varied from 37.7% to 60.0%. The NB and WB were positive, with higher NB values in sheep fed with Tanzania (5.1g/day) and Biloela (3.9g/day) and higher WB in animals fed with Buchuma (1.38kg/animal/day) and Biloela (1.42kg/animal/day). All cultivars of buffel grass evaluated (Tanzania, Buchuma and Biloela) presented adequate chemical composition, where the silage of buffel grass used corresponded to 60% of the total daily water intake by sheep.
