Aquatic insect fauna remains an important tool for bio indication of environmental disturbance, while maintaining a healthy aquatic system. The purpose of the study was to document and to identify the diversity and distribution patterns of aquatic insect, a highly ignored aspect from the Qatar. Following the standard procedures, the samples were collected from aquatic habitats during the period October 2015 to May 2017 on monthly basis. A total of 11,287 individuals, belonging to 6 orders were captured. Dipterans were the abundant with the percentages of 71.01 (n=8,015), while the lowest percentage was observed for Coleoptera 0.04 (n=05). Twelve insects families were identified, among these five were reported under Diptera, followed by Hemiptera (03), while Coleoptera, Tricoptera, Odonata, and Ephemeroptera were represented by single families. Among the selected localities, Dipterans were collected from 10 stations, followed by Hemiptera (9), Coleoptera (4), Odonota (4), Ephemeroptera (3) and Trichoptera (1) respectively. Among the water bodies samples, streams were the most preferred habitats (n=2,767), while drinking water pools were the least (27). Moreover, the highest Simpson diversity index of 1.48 and lowest of 0.47 was recorded for flooded sewage pool and plastic containers respectively, while the low evenness values were observed for ponds, and less than 1 Margalef's diversity values were seen for all habitats. This study documents the patterns of the diversity and distribution of aquatic insects, and provides a baseline for the future studies from Qatar. 2024, Instituto Internacional de Ecologia. [ES] El presente Trabajo fin de grado tiene como objetivo la valoración ambiental de masas de agua superficiales como pueden ser embalses o lagos, mediante el uso de análisis multicriterio. A través de este análisis se evalúan diferentes factores del estado de dichas masas de agua con lo que se consigue una simplificación de la evaluación de los factores influyentes para un mejor estudio y extracción de conclusiones. Se tendrán en cuenta, para su realización, los datos publicados por las diferentes administraciones públicas destinadas a la gestión del agua, como los resultados de análisis físico-químicos y biológicos, así como, el criterio de diferentes expertos en relación con la calidad de las aguas en general y, en particular, la limnología. Lo significativo de los humedales en Colombia se logra evidenciar en Cundinamarca, donde encontramos el humedal Neuta ubicado en la comuna uno de Soacha Compartir. Este humedal ha presentado diversas amenazas por contaminación, cuenta con una gran biodiversidad y es de suma importancia preservarlo debido a su regulación ambiental; sin embargo, en los últimos años se han evidenciado notorias actividades antropogénicas como el incremento de la urbanización y la descarga de desechos que provienen de las zonas circundantes. Se investigó la calidad del agua, recopilando datos de investigaciones previas donde se evaluaron los parámetros fisicoquímicos. Para el estudio se establecieron puntos de monitoreo estratégicos para la medición de dichos parámetros y poder calcular los índices de contaminación. Los hallazgos revelaron un estado de eutrofización y la influencia de emisiones generadas por el ser humano que resulta en un exceso de nutrientes alterando el nicho, con estos resultados se dan una serie de lineamientos y recomendaciones para el manejo sostenible y la preservación del ecosistema. Palabras clave: Humedales, contaminación, biodiversidad, urbanización, calidad del agua, parámetros fisicoquímicos, eutrofización, antrópica | The significance of wetlands in Colombia is evidenced in Cundinamarca, where we find the Neuta wetland located in commune one of Soacha Compartir. This wetland has presented diverse threats due to environmental contamination, the Neuta wetland has a great biodiversity, and it is of great importance to preserve it due to its environmental regulation; however, in the last years it has been evidenced notorious anthropogenic activities such as the increase of urbanization and the discharge of waste that comes from the surrounding areas to the wetland. Water quality was investigated, compiling data from previous investigations where physicochemical parameters were evaluated. The findings revealed a state of eutrophication and the influence of anthropogenic activities resulting in an excess of nutrients. These results provide a series of management guidelines and recommendations for the sustainable management and preservation of the ecosystem. Uruguay has a dense hydrographic network, nevertheless the knowledge of the aquatic macroinvertebrate community is still lacking. In recent decades afforestation with exotic species has increased which has produced changes in riparian vegetation of some rivers. The aim of this research was to determine the composition and trophic structure of macroinvertebrate community and its relationship to some physicochemical parameters in eight streams where the native forest is still well preserved and provide the basis for future studies. Samples were collected from December 2006 to December 2007. Temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH and conductivity were measured in situ. Taxonomic composition and abundance were determined, a principal component analysis and a canonical correspondence analysis were carried out with the physico-chemical and biological parameters. The alpha diversity was calculated using the Shannon-Weaver (H'), dominance of Simpson (D) and Pielou evenness indexes (J'). Beta diversity was determined employing similarity index of Bray-Curtis. A total of 1 291 specimens belonging 92 taxa were recorded. The most abundant taxa were Ephemeroptera (36%), Amphipoda (17%) and Coleoptera (12%). The streams show high diversity and low dominance. Conductivity, pH, and temperature were the main factors in determining the macroinvertebrate distribution and composition.
