Esta investigación es una apuesta por entender el capital social, representado en los atributos de confianza y cooperación, como un recurso fundamental en el manejo del agua en la cuenca del río Susa, en la vereda Paunita del municipio de Susa Cundinamarca, reconociendo estos atributos como posibles indicadores para entender la configuración de las relaciones entre los actores que participan en el manejo del agua. Se utilizó la teoría neoinstitucional para identificar las arenas de acción donde se desarrollan los arreglos institucionales alrededor del agua y entender el papel del capital social en el fortalecimiento y/o debilitamiento de estos arreglos. La metodología de investigación se dividió en 3 fases principales: revisión de bases de datos, fase de campo y análisis de la información. Dentro de los principales resultados de la investigación, se destaca la diferencia en los niveles de confianza y cooperación entre la zona alta y media de la cuenca del río Susa, siendo menores en la parte alta debido a las características de esta arena de acción y al creciente conflicto por el uso del suelo en la zona. Se recomienda fortalecer el capital social en la cuenca alta del río Susa, con apoyo de actores centrales como la finca susense que promuevan la articulación efectiva de los participantes | Social capital is a key concept to analyze the management of common use resources such as water resources in rural contexts. This research is a commitment to understand social capital, represented in the attributes of trust and cooperation, as a fundamental resource in water management in the Susa River basin, in the Paunita village of the municipality of Susa Cundinamarca, recognizing these attributes as possible indicators to understand the configuration of the relationships between the actors involved in water management. Neo-institutional theory was used to identify the arenas of action where institutional arrangements around water are developed and to understand the role of social capital in strengthening and/or weakening these arrangements. The research methodology was divided into 3 main phases: database review, field phase and information analysis. Among the main results of the research, the difference in the levels of trust and cooperation between the upper and middle zones of the Susa River basin stands out, being lower in the upper part due to the characteristics of this arena of action and the growing conflict over land use in the area.
