El manual de tecnologías orientadas a su incorporación en la enseñanza de la cátedra del agua nace dentro del marco proyecto cátedra del agua, lanzado durante el Cuarto Congreso Internacional del Agua y Ambiente CIAYA IV, que dentro de su principal eje de trabajo sitúa la gestión integral del recurso hídrico enfocado al intercambio de conocimientos entre expertos sectoriales, investigadores y comunidades; haciendo énfasis especial en esta última y con el apoyo del semillero de investigación desarrollo, ruralidad y municipio en el programa agua y campo, junto con la asociación realizada con una fundación adscrita a una de las empresas electrificadoras de la zona de estudio, se adelantó un proceso de validación para las tecnologías que pasaron a conformar el manual de tecnologías orientadas a su incorporación en la enseñanza de la cátedra del agua. Esto mediante la participación activa de comunidades educativas de tipo rural, específicamente aquellas ubicadas en la cuenca media del río Bogotá, con un acercamiento inicial a infancia y adolescencia, generando un espacio de intercambio de conocimientos respecto a las principales características de un recurso hídrico en condiciones adecuadas para su consumo, el valor que trae su apropiada conservación, protección y restauración. Esta pieza investigativa a modo de manual se propone como un proyecto a largo plazo para que continúe su constitución por parte de las comunidades, siendo así, una herramienta de apoyo en la enseñanza de la cátedra del agua y pueda expandirse a muchos otros proyectos a nivel regional e incluso nacional, para la construcción conjunta de una gestión integral del recurso hídrico, promoviendo esta, inicialmente en las edades más tempranas de la población colombiana. | The handbook of technologies oriented to its incorporation in the teaching of the cathedra of water was born within the framework of the macro project cathedra of water, launched during the fourth international congress of water and environment CIAYA IV, which within its main axis of work places the integrated water resource management focused on the exchange of knowledge among sector experts, researchers and communities; with special emphasis on the latter and with the support of the seedbed of investigation development, rurality in the water and field program, together with the association made with a foundation attached to one of the electrification companies of the study area, a validation process was advanced for the technologies that came to shape the manual of technologies oriented to its incorporation in the teaching of the cathedra of water; this through the active participation of rural educational communities, specifically those located in the middle basin of the Bogotá river, with an initial approach to childhood and adolescence, generating a space for the exchange of knowledge regarding the main characteristics of a water resource in conditions adequate for its consumption, the value that its appropriate conservation, protection and restoration bring; this manual type pedagogical piece is proposed as a long-term project to continue its constitution by the communities, so being a support tool in the teaching of the cathedra of water and can expand to many other projects at regional level and even national, for the joint construction of an integral management of the water resource, promoting this, initially in the earliest ages of the colombian population.

A direção de semeadura influencia a rugosidade da superfície do solo, e, associada à chuva e outras variáveis, como a cobertura do solo pela copa das plantas, provoca a erosão hídrica do solo. Utilizando um simulador de chuvas de braços rotativos, foram feitos, em campo, cinco testes de chuva simulada sobre as culturas de aveia (Avena strigosa) e ervilhaca (Vicia sativa), com intensidade constante de 64 mm h-1, entre agosto e novembro de 2006, para avaliar as perdas de água e solo nos seguintes tratamentos, em duas repetições: semeadura mecanizada de aveia em linhas no sentido paralelo ao declive (AP); semeadura mecanizada de aveia em linhas em contorno no declive (AC); semeadura mecanizada de ervilhaca em linhas no sentido paralelo ao declive (EP); e semeadura mecanizada de ervilhaca em linhas em contorno no declive (EC). O experimento foi conduzido em um Cambissolo Húmico alumínico léptico, com declividade média 0,119 m m-1. A cobertura do solo pela copa das plantas foi maior na aveia do que na ervilhaca até o teste 2 de chuva simulada e maior na ervilhaca nos testes 3 e 4, não tendo variado com a direção de semeadura das culturas e tendo aumentado do início ao final do período de cultivo. O tempo de início da enxurrada foi maior na semeadura em contorno do que na semeadura em direção à pendente, nas duas culturas; o contorno apresentou menor taxa máxima de enxurrada e maior tempo para enxurrada máxima do que a pendente. A concentração de sedimentos na enxurrada diminuiu ao longo dos testes de chuva, tendo sido menor na aveia do que na ervilhaca, tendo sido 52 % menor na semeadura em contorno do que na direção da pendente. As perdas de solo diminuíram ao longo dos testes de chuva. Tais perdas na semeadura em contorno foram 12 % menores na aveia e 56 % menores na ervilhaca do que na pendente. As perdas de água apresentaram o mesmo comportamento das perdas de solo, porém com diferenças de menor magnitude. As perdas acumuladas de solo (PS) aumentaram com a lâmina (LC) e a erosividade (EI30) acumulada das chuvas, entre os testes 1 e 4, segundo as equações: PS = 0,859(1-e-0,0059LC) (R² = 0,99) e PS = 0,832(1-e-0,0004EI30) (R² = 0,99).<br>The sowing direction influences soil surface roughness, which, combined with rainfall and other variables, e.g., canopy cover, affects soil water erosion. Resumen Los hidrogeles son materiales que absorben grandes cantidades de agua y se han utilizado para fines hortícolas. El objetivo de este trabajo fue hacer una evaluación técnica y económica del uso del hidrogel acrilato de potasio (AP) para reducir el consumo de agua en el cultivo de tomate utilizando tres dosis de AP (0, 3 y 6 g L-1 de sustrato), dos sustratos (arena y la mezcla: 50% arena - 40% compost - 10% perlita) y dos variedades (Aquiles y Moctezuma). El trabajo experimental se llevó a cabo en uno de los invernaderos de la Universidad Autónoma Agraria Antonio Narro, Unidad Laguna, en la ciudad de Torreón, Coahuila, México durante el ciclo primavera verano de 2020. El diseño experimental fue en bloques al azar, 12 tratamientos y cuatro repeticiones. Las variables evaluadas fueron: altura de planta, grosor del tallo, diámetro polar y ecuatorial del fruto, grosor de pulpa, número de lóculos, grados Brix, rendimiento y huella hídrica. El análisis económico se basó en la metodología de presupuesto parcial propuesta por el Centro Internacional de Maíz y Trigo para el análisis de experimentos. No se encontraron diferencias estadísticas en la calidad de fruto. El rendimiento se incrementó con AP y la huella hídrica se redujo. El ingreso marginal (Img) superó al costo marginal (Cmg) en las dos dosis de AP analizadas. El AP ahorró agua (20.1% y 21.1%) cuando se incorporó a mezcla de sustrato, aumentó el rendimiento (25.1 t ha-1), mejoró el ingreso (Img> Cmg) y mantuvo la calidad de los frutos. | Abstract Hydrogels are materials that absorb large amounts of water and have been used for horticultural purposes. This work aimed to make a technical and economic assessment of the use of potassium acrylate (PA) hydrogel to reduce water consumption in tomato cultivation by using three doses of PA (0, 3 and 6 g L-1 substrate), two substrates (sand and mixture: 50% sand - 40% compost - 10% perlite) and two varieties (Aquiles and Moctezuma). The experimental work was carried out in one of the greenhouses of the Antonio Narro Autonomous Agrarian University, Laguna Unit, in the city of Torreón, Coahuila, Mexico, during the spring-summer cycle of 2020. The experimental design was in randomized blocks, 12 treatments and four repetitions. The variables evaluated were: plant height, stem thickness, polar and equatorial diameter of the fruit, pulp thickness, number of locules, degrees Brix, yield, and water footprint. The economic analysis was based on the partial budget methodology proposed by the International Maize and Wheat Center for the analysis of experiments. No statistical differences were found in fruit quality. Yield increased with PA and the water footprint decreased. Marginal income (MgI) exceeded marginal cost (MgC) in the two doses of PA analyzed. PA saved water (20.1% and 21.1%) when incorporated into the substrate mixture, increased yield (25.1 t ha-1), improved income (MgI>MgC) and maintained fruit quality.

This paper analyses the energy performance of simple pressurised water transport systems, in which a pipe transfers water from the point of origin to the end. The aim of the analysis is to evaluate the energy efficiency of the system and, on this basis, to formulate a proposal for energy certification. To do this, three representative values of the energy intensity indicator Ie, (kWh/m3) are calculated: the ideal energy intensity Iei; the real energy intensity Ier, the quotient between the energy actually consumed (kWh) and the volume transferred (m3) in the same period of time; and, finally, the target energy intensity, Ieo, the unit energy value assuming optimal real operation. The result of the Ier/Ieo quotient summarises the margin for improvement of the system and is therefore used to qualify its energy efficiency. The work concludes with a real example that reproduces the established procedure. | El presente trabajo analiza el comportamiento energético de los sistemas de transporte de agua a presión simples, en los que una tubería trasiega agua desde el punto origen hasta el final. El objetivo del análisis es evaluar la eficiencia energética del sistema y, a partir de ella, formular una propuesta de certificación energética. Para ello, se calculan tres valores representativos del indicador intensidad energética Ie, (kWh/m3): la intensidad energética ideal Iei; la Intensidad energética real Ier, cociente entre la energía realmente consumida (kWh) y el volumen trasegado (m3) en idéntico periodo de tiempo, y, por último, la Intensidad energética objetivo, Ieo, valor de la energía unitaria suponiendo un funcionamiento real óptimo. A review of some analytical models existing in the bibliography for the evolution of spherical symmetry bulb front advance is presented in this article. Surface drip irrigation is considered from a point (or quasi-point) source for a homogeneous, uniform and isotropic soil, in absence of gravitational force, neither water accumulation on the surface. Furthermore, a new analytical model for spherical symmetric bulb front advance evolution is proposed, based on simplifications in boundary conditions that can be assumed for surface drip irrigation. The model was deduced from the Darcy and continuity equations from a quasi-point source on the surface. At the end of the article, it is shown a comparison among all the analytical models mentioned and simulation results obtained through a numerical model that was validated and presented in previous publications. | En este artículo se presenta una revisión de algunos modelos analíticos y modelos analíticos simplificados existentes en la bibliografía para la evolución del frente de avance del flujo de agua en el suelo bajo condiciones de riego por goteo superficial y con simetría esférica, es decir, asumiendo condiciones de suelo homogéneo e isótropo, ausencia del efecto gravitatorio y sin acumulación de agua en la superficie. Además, se propone un nuevo modelo analítico para la evolución del bulbo, en base a simplificaciones asumibles en condiciones de contorno de riego por goteo superficial, que ha sido deducido a partir de la combinación entre la ecuación de Darcy y la ecuación de continuidad del flujo desde una fuente cuasi-puntual en superficie. Al final del artículo se presenta un contraste entre todos los modelos analíticos mencionados en este trabajo y resultados de simulación que fueron obtenidos a través de un modelo numérico de elaboración propia, validado y presentado en publicaciones previas.

La falta de acceso a agua potable ha sido una preocupación constante en las comunidades indígenas Wayuú ubicadas en la ciudad de La Guajira. Con el objetivo de reducir el número de muertes relacionadas con la falta de agua potable, se ha llevado a cabo un proyecto para diseñar un filtro purificador de agua específicamente adaptado a las necesidades y circunstancias de estas comunidades. Este proyecto ha tomado en consideración las tradiciones y costumbres de los Wayuú, tanto dentro como fuera del contexto del agua, a través de un trabajo de campo detallado. Para llevar a cabo el diseño del filtro purificador de agua, se ha utilizado una metodología personal que se senta en el análisis y los resultados, que serán de ayuda en la selección, el diseño y el tipo de filtración. Durante el trabajo de campo, se ha realizado un estudio exhaustivo de las tradiciones y costumbres de los Wayuú, con especial atención en su relación con el agua y los métodos tradicionales de filtración utilizados. El filtro, llamado "Ulee Wüiin", consta de dos fases principales para asegurar la máxima purificación del agua. La primera fase, llamada prefiltración, se enfoca en eliminar las partículas sólidas presentes en el agua. Con una altura de 55 cm y una capacidad total de 53 litros, incluyendo los materiales de prefiltración, el filtro puede satisfacer las necesidades de una familia de 12 personas. La presencia del proyecto tiene un impacto positivo en el mercado, revelando empleos y fortaleciendo la economía de Colombia. Asimismo, beneficia a diversas comunidades indígenas en Colombia, México, Estados Unidos, Arabia y África, mejorando su calidad de vida. Resumen En México existen escasos estudios que describen a los cuerpos acuáticos empleados para la agricultura y el rol que tiene el agua de riego como fuente de inóculo, persistencia y dispersión de parásitos fitopatógenos, tal es el caso de los oomycetes que habitan ambientes acuáticos con capacidad de infectar un amplio rango de hospedantes cultivados. Debido a la falta de información sobre qué géneros y especies de oomycetes están presentes en el agua, su identificación es de suma importancia para gestionar alternativas de manejo y control de estos para la producción agrícola en la región. Con el objetivo de determinar qué oomycetes se aíslan en aguas superficiales empleadas para la irrigación en el Valle de Culiacán, Sinaloa, en el periodo comprendido de septiembre de 2018 a enero de 2019, en diferentes redes hídricas agrícolas (presas, estanques, ríos y canales), se colocaron trampas flotantes elaboradas con bolsas de polipropileno y dos frutos de pera que sirvieron como cebo. Se obtuvieron aislados de oomycetes, los cuales se identificaron en base a sus características morfológicas y secuencias de ADN (con los iniciadores ITS 4/6, COX y NADH), también se realizaron pruebas de patogenicidad en plantas y frutos de las familias de solanáceas y cucurbitáceas. Se aislaron e identificaron los organismos: Phytophthora parsiana, P. virginiana, P. lagoariana, P. capsici y P. hydropathica. Todas las especies de Phytophthora resultaron patogénicas, tuvieron capacidad de infectar plantas y frutos, causando síntomas de marchitez y pudrición en las hortalizas inoculadas. | Abstract In Mexico there are few studies describing aquatic bodies used for agriculture and the role of irrigation water as a source of inoculum, persistence and dispersal of phytopathogenic parasites, such as oomycetes that inhabit aquatic environments with the capacity to infect a wide range of cultivated hosts. In order to determine which oomycetes are isolated in surface waters used for irrigation in the Culiacán Valley, Sinaloa, in the period from September 2018 to January 2019, in different agricultural water networks (reservoir, ponds, rivers and canals), floating traps made with polypropylene bags and two pear fruits that were placed that served as bait. Oomycete isolates were obtained, which were identified based on their morphological characteristics and DNA sequences (with ITS 4/6, COX and NADH initiators), pathogenicity tests were also performed on plants and fruits of the solanacea and cucurbitaceae families. The organisms were isolated and identified: Phytophthora parsiana, P. virginiana, P. lagoariana, P. capsici and P. hydropathica. All Phytophthora species were pathogenic, they had the ability to infect plants and fruits, causing symptoms of wilting and rotting in the inoculated vegetables.

A água de reúso definida como a reutilização de águas provenientes de efluentes tratados, pode ser uma fonte alternativa de água para agricultura, porém é importante a avaliação da sua qualidade sanitária para não causar agravos a saúde ambiental e humana. O objetivo foi avaliar a qualidade sanitária da água de reúso de diferentes origens para uso na agricultura com finalidade de emprego sustentável da água. Foram coletadas amostras de água de reúso de diferentes tipos de tratamento, denominadas no trabalho como "clorada, polida e biológica". Foram realizadas análises bacteriológicas e físico-químicas da água de reúso, e do solo. Em sistema construído em laboratório foram cultivados Petroselinum crispum, regados por gotejamento com água de reúso e água potável. Foram feitas extrações de DNA total para verificação da quantidade de microbiota no solo durante os cultivos. Foi realizada Reação da Polimerase em Cadeia (PCR), para busca no solo dos cultivos, dos bioindicadores de contaminação fecal Escherichia coli, Adenovírus sorotipos 40 e 41 e Methanobrevibacter smithii. Foi avaliado o desenvolvimento da planta como bioindicadora indireta de nutrientes no solo. Foi analisado o decaimento de E. coli e Salmonella spp. no solo com cultivo de P. crispum e solo nu, irrigados com águas de reúso e potável (controle). Análises de substâncias com atividade estrogênica foram feitas nas amostras de águas de reúso, por meio do ensaio YES (Yeast Estrogen Screen). As análises bacteriológicas e físico-químicas mostraram que apenas a água de reúso "polida" estava própria para reúso agrícola, segundo normativas nacionais e internacional. As quantificações de DNA indicaram que as amostras de água de reúso contribuíram para aumento de 1,6 vezes na quantidade de microbiota do solo, enquanto que os irrigados com água potável tiveram diminuição de 3,8 vezes. A água de reúso auxiliou para o maior desenvolvimento dos cultivos. A PCR mostrou que as amostras de água de reúso alteraram a microbiota do solo, pois ficaram retidos durante os cultivos, os microrganismos presentes nas águas de reúso, Adenovírus tipo 40 e 41 e E. coli. O decaimento de Salmonella spp. nos cultivos irrigados com água de reúso foi mais lento, em comparação com o grupo controle. A amostra "biológica" apresentou substâncias com atividade estrogênica na concentração de 115 ng L-1. O estudo demonstrou que, se a água de reúso estiver dentro dos padrões de qualidade sanitária, se for feita irrigação por gotejamento, e com um tempo de parada entre irrigação e colheita das culturas, esta representa uma fonte de água segura e sustentável para irrigação da agricultura. Para isso é fundamental a criação de lei federal de reúso agrícola, a fim de evitar danos à saúde humana e ambiental. | Water reuse, defined as t he reuse of water from treated effluents, can be an alternative source of water for agriculture. However, the evaluation of its quality is important in order not to cause damage to human an d environmental health. The objective of the study was to evaluate the sanitary quality of water reuse from different sources for use in agriculture for the purpose of sustainable use of water. Samples of water reuse were collected from different types of treatment, being named in the present work as "chlorinated", "polis hed" and "biological". Bacteriological and physical chemical analyzes of the water reuse and of the soil were carried out. Analyzes of substances with estrogenic activity were made in the s amples of water reuse, through the YES test ( Yeast Estrogen Screen )). In a laboratory built system, plants of the species Petroselinum crispum were grown, dripped with water reuse and drinking water. Total DNA extractions were carried out to check the amoun t of microbiota in the soil during cultivation. Polymerase Chain Re action (PCR) was carried out to search for the fecal contamination bioindicators Escherichia coli , Adenovirus serotypes 40 and 41 and Methanobrevibacter smithii in the soil of the crops. Th e development of the plant as an indirect bioindicator of nutrients in the soil was evaluated. The decay of E. coli and Salmonella spp. in soil with P. crispum cultivation and in bare soil, irrigated with water reuse and drinking water (control). Bacteriol ogical and physical chemical analyzes showed that only "polished" w ater reuse was suitable for agricultural reuse, according to national and international regulations. The "biological" sample presented substances with estrogenic activity at a concentration of 115 ng L 1 . DNA quantifications indicated that the water reuse samples contributed to a 1.6 fold increase in the amount of soil microbiota. Those irrigated with drinking water had a decrease of 3.8 times. The water reuse helped to further develop the c rops. The PCR showed that the samples of water reuse altered the so il microbiota, because the microorganisms (Adenovirus types 40 and 41 and E. coli ) present in the water reuse were retained during cultivation. The decay of Salmonella spp. in crops irrigat ed with water reuse it was slower compared to the control group. Th e study demonstrated that, if the water reuse is within the sanitary quality standards, if drip irrigation is done, and with a stop time between irrigation and crop harvesting, this represe nts a safe and sustainable source of water for irrigation of the ag riculture. To this end, it is essential to create a federal law on agricultural reuse, in order to avoid damage to human and environmental health.

This paper offers an exploratory microeconomic analysis of water use in the cultivation of almonds orchards when water is considered as the limiting factor. When a crop is subjected to water limitation, the microeconomic principles behind irrigation decisions are based upon the water-yield relationship. The analysis is applied to an estimated water-yield response function for irrigated almond trees in Spain; our research focuses on determining the optimal irrigation dose when deficit irrigation is applied, as is usual in the context of water limitation. The situation in Spain is compared to that of other countries where water rights are less constrained. The economic analysis of the water production function is crucial, since it determines the farmers’ income and helps them make appropriate management decisions, such as the allocation of limited water to crops and the extension of the irrigated area. Furthermore, public institutions need this basic information in order to assign water allocation in the context of increasing demand and limited resources. | Este artículo ofrece un análisis microeconómico del uso del agua en el cultivo del almendro cuando el agua se considera el factor limitante. Cuando un cultivo está sujeto a limitación de agua, los principios microeconómicos detrás de las decisiones de riego se basan en la relación entre rendimiento y riego. El análisis se aplica a una función de respuesta agua-producción estimada para almendros de regadío en España. Nuestra investigación se centra en determinar la dosis óptima de riego cuando se aplica riego deficitario, como es habitual en contexto de escasez de agua. Finalmente, la situación en España se compara con la de otros países donde los derechos de agua están menos restringidos. El análisis económico de la función de producción de agua es crucial, ya que determina los ingresos de los agricultores y los ayuda a tomar decisiones de gestión adecuadas, como la asignación de agua limitada a los cultivos y la extensión del área regada. Además, las instituciones públicas necesitan esta información para garantizar una adecuada asignación de los recursos hídricos en un contexto de demanda creciente y recursos limitados.

La electrocoagulación es un método alternativo a los métodos convencionales de coagulación-floculación usados en tratamiento de aguas residuales. Hoy en día, esta técnica se emplea para el tratamiento de aguas residuales domésticas, industriales y sanitarias. En el proceso de electrocoagulación se generan iones metálicos in situ (p. ej., iones generados por el paso de corriente eléctrica, electrólisis). Estos iones son precursores de una variedad de especies coagulantes y su producción puede controlarse con facilidad por el tiempo de la electrólisis y los parámetros establecidos en la celda electrolítica (p. ej., corriente o potencial). Las especies coagulantes pueden presentar diversas cargas superficiales y el proceso de coagulación se da por interacción de dichas especies con los contaminantes contenidos en las aguas residuales. Estos coagulantes son capaces de atrapar partículas coloidales o incluso los microorganismos patógenos que podrían crecer en las aguas. La sobreproducción de coagulantes durante la electrólisis favorece la formación de flóculos, que a su vez precipitan en la celda electrolítica. Una vez finalizada la electrólisis, el precipitado se remueve con facilidad por filtración simple. En el presente manuscrito se evaluó la eficiencia de la electrocoagulación, usando ánodos de aluminio comercial obtenidos a partir de latas de bebidas convencionales (latas de refrescos o cerveza). El aluminio comercial se caracterizó electroquímicamente y se comparó con aluminio de alta pureza. La caracterización electroquímica demostró que el aluminio comercial produce mayores cantidades de agentes coagulantes bajo las mismas condiciones experimentales. Por ello, el aluminio comercial se utilizó como material anódico para el tratamiento de aguas artificiales infectadas con tres tipos de bacterias: Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli y Staphylococcus aureus, respectivamente. Los resultados experimentales han mostrado una efectividad de remoción de 100% cuando las aguas están infectadas de Pseudomonas aeruginosa o Escherichia coli, mientras que las aguas infectadas con Staphylococcus aureus presentaron una eficiencia de remoción de 99.86%.
