The decreasing number of agricultural labourers gave rise to the development of methods which cause hoeing of sugar beet to become a one-man job. In addition to the front and mid-mounted hoeing machines, recently there have also been put to use one-man-tractor-mounted steerage hoes. The first practical experience is commented on here.
