Grapevine plants, Vitis vinifera L., cv. Palomino, were fertilized with Nitrogen (N, 40 and 80 kg/Ha), Phosphorus (P2O5, 40 and 120 kg/Ha) and Potassium (K2O, 40 and 160 kg/Ha). Total, reducing, non-reducing sugars, glucose and fructose were evaluated in the leaves from visible inflorescence stage to commercial harvest time. There was a peak in total sugar content at flowering, it decreased until ripening of the fruits and finally increased at harvest time. Phosphorus fertilized plants showed a different reducing: non-reducing sugar ratio than the unfertilized control at flowering. At harvest time the N-fertilized plants showed a higher content in reducing sugars of leaves
